Years ago, I canoed the Rio Grande through the Santa Elena Canyon and landed my canoe right where this photo was taken by another person. Just got word that this spot was bulldozed today. I have nothing but bad wishes for every person involved in doing this awful deed.

Smokey day in Seattle. Really nothing when compared to what friends & family in Oregon, Eastern Washington & British Columbia are experiencing with the fires. I know ranchers out working on fire lines in Eastern Oregon. They are heros. Here the smoke’s such that it’s best to avoid exertion outdoors.
Riding a Seattle bus today & a blind woman 2 seats away had a seizure. Notified the driver. Myself & another passenger called 911 and monitored her to make sure she didn’t hurt herself. Medics arrived in 2 minutes. She was already coming out of it. She was able to walk off the bus with the medics.
Just received my email & text notification of where my ballot is for the August 4 election here in Seattle.
The shooting location at Seattle Center today is about a 10 minute walk from my place. I was at home. I probably heard the sirens, but it’s a city & sirens aren’t unusual. Found this tree while biking yesterday which I’ve been meaning to share.
Voted today in Seattle. Wanted to get it in well ahead of the Aug 4 deadline.

Biking along Westlake & my yacht detector went off. The 290 foot “Zen” docked in Seattle’s Lake Union.
Friends flew in from Texas & Colorado to climb Mt. Rainier. Focus on day 1 in Seattle, was testing tent set up & spreading things out in my condo to remove duplicate gear. They are experienced ice nerds planning on the Kautz Glacier route. Hope to see them again Thursday.

Biked & saw a reasonably low Seattle tide this morning. Monday will have a -4.17 tide at 11:37AM. Tuesday will have a -4.10 tide at 12:25PM. About 8 hours after the lows the high tides will be in & there will be nearly 17 feet of water above where you were standing at water’s edge at low tide.
Zuckerberg’s yacht, Launchpad, stern to stern with its tender, Wingman. This critical configuration allows for efficient keg replenishment in Seattle.
My third time donating blood in Canada🇨🇦. Driving 250 miles round trip to donate in a place where it is extremely unlikely that an ICE agent will benefit, is worth it. Yeah. I’m that petty.
