Random thoughts from my brain. Expect romance novels, soccer, board games, and the 614 (I contain multitudes).
This is still one of my favorite albums ever and my go to when the rage has consumed me.
From our friends in the stadium. He was wearing the hat and Crew Cat insisted on wearing it.
I made a Cobb salad today and used the dressing I think I learned from cmaetay a decade ago when Twitter was the thing. She’s disappeared from social but if someone sees her in real life tell her I think about her every time I use that salad dressing.
Dispatch from @probablydustin.bsky.social that this is the recently vacated Value City store front In Reynoldsburg. Nature is healing.
Confirmed. Those golden domes on the right are what is being burned. This is a cultural site. It’s been 16 years since I’ve been there, but again matching internet photos this looks correct. Heartbreaking.
I believe this is the site (the Lavra) in question (or part of it. I don’t know if it matches the video). Watching the destruction of Kyiv is like watching the slow death of a beloved relative.
Sometimes being a soccer parent is downright nice. Like yesterday when the weather was gorgeous. It wasn’t great driving to the middle of nowhere. There was a farm next to the soccer field.
I loved this book. If you want to stay in the drama of figure skating at the Winter Olympics just a little longer, go read this. But don’t read the reviews ahead of time. I would have been in my head about the book rather than just enjoying it.
May I recommend the VSQ Ladies of 90s Alt Rock if you need something to work to on this Monday that’s calm but still kind of ragey.
This broke me. Because it feels like life right now. I know my kid is old enough and that I need to be talking to him about what’s going on but he still believes in people being good and justice and I’m struggling to be the one to break is sweet heart. I know that is a privilege. It guts me.
Whew boy will I be complaining about this to everyone that will pick up the phone including my congressperson’s office and my senators. I got a $36.25 bill on $75 of purchase before the person exception was removed AND I have 7 days to pay or I get a 9.9% late fee.
No cheating. Your last saved celebrity photo is your therapist. Who is it? From the podcast it seems like she would be a good therapist. Same for him.
Hey Columbus folks- I have a friend who’s husband is a Columbus schools 11th grade teacher and could use some books for his classroom. Do you have any you could donate? Happy to collect and get to here. Screen shots of some things he’s looking for but he said he’d take anything really.
Tell me you went to elementary school in the south in the 80s without telling me.
Clearly an awful place (PS my uber driver on the way to the airport told me how in the last 10 years that DC has just been constantly improving. He was from Cameroon and said it was such a nice clean city.) Post your last photo of DC to show what a hell-hole it is.
Going thru some photos. Found this screen shot from 2017. How’d that work out for us? Not great right? Mexico didn’t pay a cent and there’s not really a wall. How do you think tariffs are going to work out for us?
Historic preservationists are cringing seeing this. Who agreed to this desecration? It’s giving
No cheating. Your last saved celebrity photo is your therapist. Who is it? I apparently don’t save celebrity photos often. I think he will be a terrible therapist. (Do my pictures from the National portrait gallery count?)
I’m pretty thrilled with how this came out for a first attempt at this technique. Outline from Sarah Cray’s bird workbook but the watercolor technique is all my own which is why this is not on insta. I don’t want it stolen by AI. Other than the beak everything was done with a 1/2” wash brush
