Nobody 2 I'm still undecided on so I hear you there. Lol but no worries, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts! Love to disagree wholesomely. I'll just leave you whith this lovely response I once got from Timo:
I played drums from age 11 to my early 20s and haven't touched it since mostly due to circumstances prevented access and outlet. I'll be 34 this summer. I miss it everyday. Every other artistic outlet I have is molded by music. Here's me at 14 playing at a place my Dad and I would open mic at:
Holy shit! THE BLUFF is fuckin' incredible. Karl Urban is a wonderful scummy villain with the always great Temuera Morrison. But Priyanka Chopra absolutely steals the entire movie. And what a vehicle for her. An absolutely bloody pirate affair with incredible action. She fucks people up, friends.
Strange. I wasn't looking for this specifically but I found the note book where I first wrote down that line. The film, from the jump, spoke to me and I had to write down some of the dialog. I got it wrong. The line is, "They left me with nothing. I'm going to leave them with less." What a film.
Any fans of IN A VALLEY OF VIOLENCE out there? Really adore this little western lead by Ethan Hawke and John Travolta. There's this line that Hawke says that goes so hard, it has always stuck with me, goes something like, "They took everything from me... I'm gonna leave them with less." God damn.
The Drifter is pretty spectacular. Needed something smaller to sink my teeth into before I dive into the next game and this has me looking at old notes and sketches for a point and click idea I've had tumbling around in my head for years.
Ghost Killer kicks so much ass. Really love Akari Takaishi's performance, having to switch between hardened hitman and frantic college student on a dime, in the middle of fights no less, is truly astounding. Final shootout and subsequent final fight are some of the best of the year.
I think we're missing out on greatness when the man's IMDB looks like this for the past 8 years. Don't get me wrong There are fuckin' bangers here, pretty sure I'm The Swordsman's biggest fan, Hit & Run is a lot of fun. Warrior is incredible. The Furious has me excited but Joe has pretty low billing
Pretty positive this doesn't give anything away, but I just realized this poster is strange because at no point in the movie do they show a grave in the ground. Also "A Knives Out Mystery" is so stupid. Please let RJ drop that, Netflix, I know it's gotta be your fault.
Been listening to Aesop Rock's latest album basically all week, it shadow dropped just before or on Halloween and God damn, for me he hasn't missed. Professor Skye called it "spooky" both sonically and thematically and kind of a political album? I think that is apt!
Was K.O. on anyone's radar?? Completely by the books French genre action film in the best way. Some excellent fights in this! Ciryl Gane is fuck-huge Reacher big, performing some gnarly combos, throws/suplexes. Great club fight (yes another one) and epic finale. This is the DTV goods we love!
I happened to catch a clip of Guy Ritchie's REVOLVER on yt. I don't think I have watched this flick since it came out. But I realized, whether intentional or happenstance, in DIABLO Marko Zaror is channeling a ton of Mark Strong energy, like the resemblance is kind of uncanny.
Ernesto Díaz Espinoza's The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly: Judgment Day.
Pixel art map I've been working on for my D&D campaign I'm running. A church under siege due to a zombie outbreak:
By the way, this is a fun example monster in Into The Odd Remastered:
I like a lot of CAGE THE ELEPHANT songs. I saw they dropped an album last year, I dig it. But their first album, their self-titled album, deeply speaks to my soul. The raw blues/garage rock epic had BORDERLANDS riding the coattails of the swagger and charisma of AIN'T NO REST FOR THE WICKED.
As much as I love Timo's signature carnage and mayhem I also adore when Timo is heartfelt, which I think he is at the core of all his films but THE BIG 4 in particular (might be my favorite of his?) he really stretches those muscles to great effect. Nobody 2 feels like a similar wave length.
If you swipe down from the top of your screen where it shows your bluetooth/wifi etc., in the top right corner, is your settings as pictured. If you swipe down and it shows notifications, swipe left. From settings go Adavance Features > Side Button > Long Press. And you should have 3 options.
If you listen to literally any interview where Coogler brings up his proximity/relationship to identical twins, it is abundantly clear that the film was always supposed to be what it currently is. Not sure why we gotta keep bringing that piece of shit up.
Create your own double feature. 🎬 #filmsky (I wouldn't even know how to explain this one)
