Lots of crazy shit happens along the way. But I guess it all adds to the overall evolution. Di Meola last night in Lexington MA. My God, wow! Just crazy good. He even did a few Return to Forever sequences. I mean, it's no Weather Report, right?? Ha! But they were killer. Great show.
Just for the record ... you gotta put a chair out when you shovel your space out in the Boston area. It's not sophisticated. But it's the way its' always been, ha! Welcome to town. You're hitting a cold and snow snap we haven't seen in a few years. Great music track choice as always!
I haven't looked at Seurat in a while. I always felt he was a bit too caught up in technique - based on my casual viewing. But searching through a range of images now, especially his charcoal work ... there's some great stuff here. Def worth more attention.
This will probably sound pedestrian - but you can see visual similarities between these notations and a Charlie Parker solo from the 1950s - Very different sounds, but similar speed and sequential flow up and down the scale range. I guess speed has always been one aspect of proficiency.
I still have the the Ringo album my 8th grade girlfriend gave me circa 1981 - Love Ringo and still toss this vinyl on from time to time.
I'm on board with many here that said abstract expressionism. Love me some Hans Hofmann, but I like many different artists from this period and movement. I also agree there is no wrong answer. Everything from one period leads to the next. It's all consequential in one way or another.

I am in no way competing - your duck looks crazy good! But as a kindred spirit - I've roasted the the family turkey on the grill for the last 27 years - amazing. Next up -duck!

Been meaning to report back ... and Curtis was my que. Joshua Redman this past Sat night in Rockport MA. Ridiculous! Amazing venue too - the glass wall behind the stage is ocean view in the afternoon. I've seen many killer shows here.
On Electric Company - The Spell Binder steals an "S" and the kid's dessert turns into a desert. Not to worry though ... Letterman swoops in to restore the "S" and the kid's dessert. To this day, that's how I always remember the different spellings. 50 years later for me though ..
I think in most ways it was a reaction to photography. Spot on!! And then that leads to all kinds of great painting work that follows .. Hoffman below. But so many crazy good artists from 1920-1960

The most "Florida" thing to happen this week ... so far. Perfect. Maybe they can "make a deal" with Philip Morris to provide smokes for the kids to make the overnight shifts a bit more palatable. Make Florida 1910 again.
I thought she was fantastic in her role on "In the Middle". So funny ...
