I'm reading a book from the 90s, Orlanda by Jacqueline Harpman, which is essentially about someone who represses wanting to be a gay man so hard their spirit splits into a separate body, but then the author is also repressing wanting to write a gay novel, thereby achieving Quantum Fujin, like so.

"It's an old lady's library!" he exclaimed.
"You're quite right," said Paul Renault who had returned with a jug of water and some ice cubes. "I haven't touched a thing since the death of my parents who had kept my grandparents' books. My books are in another room."

Away by the story. But also, there is something fascinating about unrequited love and Aline's Maurice Alker made me feel nostalgic. I think he reminds me of some love affair that I did not have, because I was too young or too silly. Unfortunately, I did not have the presence of mind to turn into a boy and become adventurous. Let us withdraw.

okay I'm only like a quarter of the way through but this thing is melting my mind, it's an interwar drama but it's written in a 19th century epic style and the combination is incredible there's a whole chapter where a guy sits on a chair too extravagantly and causes his FIL to have a heart attack
