Grocery store gave me a free sample jug of milk so I made bread pudding with it. Pics are before and after nutmeg and icing sugar dusting. I put little dollops of raspberry jam instead of raisins inside. Custardy goodness 💜
I didn't think it would work but I stuck the pieces of my fern in some seedling potting mix and watered well. I checked one today and if has tiny roots‼️ I may actually be a plant growing miracle worker

Gardening is a good hobby. Searching what conditions the plants need, how to prepare the soil, & other details gives a sense of control but it's also interesting. It doesn't even have to be expensive. I'm learning to compost scraps & identify edible plants already in my garden
My kōwhai seedlings are doing so well! One is already 8cm tall (pictured) and the other three are all over 3.5cm. I read that it's time to put the biggest one in a 10x10cm pot so I will do that once it arrives. I also learnt that kōwhai trees are part of the legume family hehe 💜

A tree native to Aotearoa, where I was born (I'm not native I'm Pākehā/NZ european) and live, with beautiful yellow flowers - picture from the original post from a few quoted posts back. The native Tūī birds feed on the flowers along with other native flower nectars. It's my favourite tree
I know I haven't streamed much at all for the second half of the year but I still want to express my appreciation. I'm doing my best to get my health stable enough to come back to streaming but I won't rush myself because I can't after a lifetime of pushing myself. Take care 💜

‼️3/5 kōwhai seeds have sprouted! This is not a drill! My dreams are coming true! ‼️ (The white wisps of mould show that the potting mix is healthy, the light brown is cinnamon to keep the mould down & they're in cut up egg carton in a plastic container but look at the sprouts!)

Yeah, I wasn't sure if you were in the US but I was thinking more food banks/pantries. You have to qualify for assistance from them? I didn't know that they means tested - I thought you could just walk in and get food. This food bank FAQ suggests it's not means tested but it likely varies
Maybe I could get an animation of doing a poi dance instead. Glowing poi even! I don't think anyone would mind if I did a haka, all kids did kapa haka at my school, but I don't feel comfortable bc it doesn't feel respectful for me to depict it without context of an appropriate important occasion
