Looking back towards Leith and Edinburgh from Inchcolm island in the Firth of Forth.
Extraordinary contrast - this is how Edinburgh Castle looked from the opposite direction around 2 pm! (I was at the Princes St tram stop).
It arrived safely today - thanks very much @dj-acid-reflux.bsky.social . Another one for the tottering pile of books yet to be read! I shall look out for those mistypeds though......
Not a promising start - only page 21 and the author has the Thames flowing towards Oxford.
Well, that was fun! (Particularly when they got down to Holyrood and drowned out the small Yaxley-Lennon-type counter protest!)
Only just noticed the angry birds supporting this old gas lamp holder in Restalrig Rd - do you know if all such relics have them, Andy Arthur @threadinburgh.scot ?
The view from Inchcolm island, with the Edinburgh skyline in the distance.
A minute's silence for Janey Godley, respectfully observed outside St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh (her funeral takes place tomorrow in Glasgow). The hearse had "Frank, get the door" inscribed on the side.
This was the best the allotment had to offer today - I feel a chard frittata may be in the offing.....
