Glorious storm and cloud cover to break the heat. I live in a farming community, and weather hits different when you see the fields every day.
Been meaning to read these forever and found this at the used English book sale at the English church. 4 Francs (about 5US) a book and this is the first four books published in a single volume. Absolute score!
I love forgetting that I’ve pre-ordered something. A little gift from past-me.
The heatwave is coming, so make a plan for hydrating yourself and your pollinators 🥵💧🐝 #Hitzewelle
I should be changing the sheets, but somebody has other ideas...
I just started reading Lázár (auf Deutsch) and was going to suggest it for the book club because the English translation is out now, I'm so excited to see somebody beat me to the idea!
I’ve been hearing a lot about this one, looking forward to getting started

Just one picture of said child from those days (although here I'm giving my spouse a BIIIIIG side-eye for not holding on tighter)
I've been traveling since late July so I'm doing a very truncated #SealeyChallenge this year starting today w/ Scorched Earth by Tiana Clark. I've enjoyed Clark's work since her chap Equilibrium, so I'm glad this newest collection inspired me to pull her earlier work off my shelf for some re-reading
It also inspired this found poem from my chap Self Portrait with Housewife

Really enjoying this Icelandic classic, translated by J. A. Thompson.
Hi Chicago, even if I’m just dashing through O‘Hare between gates I do so love seeing you
This pork belly sandwich from Cochon Butcher is literally one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my life 🤤 So simple, so divine.
Someone left this ARC in my hotel‘s lending library and I am devouring it!!
