Not a real complaint, but highly amused that during this woman’s speech about how they will run out of light bulbs and die in the dark, there is a light on behind her that’s just illuminating the top of a barrel. Maybe turn that off if bulb longevity is a pressing concern?
I dunno, finding out that the Weather app caps air quality data at 500, and having to go third party to find an actual reading seems bad.
I’ve been slowly rebuilding a setup of components on eBay, and so long as you’re a little patient, you can get a nice setup together for not much money.
My birthday was last week, and I sat for an official portrait to show I am aging with grace, good humor, and optimism!
A friend was about to donate a small table to goodwill and I had some old chairs in the garage that are sturdy but beaten up in the 25 years or so since they were new. They also did not go together at all.
Once I stained and lacquered them, I brought them inside, where the lighting doesn’t allow the photographs to really capture the detail, so you’d have to take my word on how pretty they turned out.
Such an interesting question. I have quite a few things from the sixties or seventies that are still in use: the weird clock my mom had in our kitchen growing up that rests atop my oven, a 70’s turntable, some old tupperware. I have older things, but probably not stuff in daily use.
Finally found the one person on earth not blown away by seeing Stevie Wonder playing music.
First pass at staining has not gone as planned, but I have a hypothesis and will be testing it shortly.
The real wood on the panels turns out to be a veneer, so I have to be careful not to sand too much, but this is the difference in wood tone after the first rough sand on one of them. They will eventually be stained blue.
Over the next day or two, I will be refurbishing some old speakers a friend gave to me. His best guess is that they haven’t been connected to anything in at least 40 years.
My Bluesky license (Seems pretty generous considering I have few followers and don’t post a lot.)
Post the best picture you have ever taken of your pet (if you feel like it) Not my pet, but he was my buddy when I visited my friend where he lived. He’d purr contentedly for however long I cared to sit, tongue flopping out.
My friend and I got together today to ride our bikes, which is a pretty great way to spend a day.
Made lemon-ricotta ravioli with a light tomato cream sauce, red peppers, and spinach for dinner tonight. It’s pretty great how much doing little things for yourself can improve your day.
Should be used to how bonkers the weather is by now. Am not used to how bonkers the weather is.
