I'm not saying the heat's getting to me but I woke up this afternoon and looked at my phone and discovered that at some point in the night I woke up and made a note that I have absolutely zero memory of writing
there was also The Dealer's Tarot! a tarot deck and a book of games you can play with them. I collect playing cards and love card games, and the almost ligne claire art style of this deck really called to me.
got some kickstarter stuff in my mailbox! first up it's Legitimate Salvage! I'm not really into Sci-Fi games, but I love Forbidden Psalm and enjoy seeing it get spun off into different forms, so I decided to take a punt on it :V
I also used the rest of one of the Fyreslayer kits to make a weird little wizard I'm making my Dwarf units with an eye to be able to run them as their own Chaos Dwarf force in WFB and other games, and I think having a wizard who's mutated into something like a blemmy is appropriately chaotic
very happy with how the officer for my undead Oathmark army's Dwarf Warriors unit turned out! from the neck down he's a Frostgrave Demon body with the knees chopped off, and the head and cloak are cobbled together from AoS Fyreslayer bits.
my favourite colour illustration is this amazing piece by Alan Lathwell, depicting the hunt for Twrch Trwyth in 'Culhwch ac Olwen', which was a lovely surprise!
also it's nice knowing that if I ever find my Lizardmen and Skaven armies, I have a game I can use them in ready and waiting!
not just the rules but the book itself was clearly designed with as an homage to old school rulebooks, and a big part of that are what are my favourite illustrations in the whole book, David Needham's black and white group pictures. I wish everything looked like this.
picked up a copy of Dragon Rampant 2nd Ed in the Osprey sale. seems like it was definitely written with capital-f Fun in mind! the way it not only properly credits the artists but also the miniatures' manufacturers should be the industry standard. also holy shit someone makes Noggin the Nog minis??
finished my 2nd book of the year and it's one of my favourites from last year, that was my pick for the lil book club I'm doing with some pals absolutely fucking transcendent book that digs its way into your flesh and won't let go til you finish it. cannot recommend it strongly enough!
me in chat yesterday listening to @marumalandra.wtf playing MGS 3 while I did housework after I heard her say she was going to have Snake eat a fly agaric mushroom
very tired but I managed to completely avoid the rain and hail so we're calling it a win
me when I search for '28mm wolf true scale' and the top result has a fucking saddle on it
a more minimal standard bearer than usual. the last thing an archer needs is some herbert with a big flag in the front rank blocking the view gave the musician a horn-holding skele-arm from a WGA skeleton chariot sprue. the arms and bodies are a good match, but WGA skele-heads are fucking enormous.
very happy with the Officer; gave them a shawl from the WGA Villagers sprue I roughed up with a knife to make it tatty, and grafted horns from a different helmet onto theirs 'cause I wanted the shouty head I like their pose, I think it conveys they've ordered the back rank to draw but not loose yet
I got a voucher for participating in a survey a while back, so I used it to get some Oathmark skeletons popped together 5 Skeleton Archers last night and another 5 this morning. very fiddly build for someone with motor skills as banjaxxed as mine, but still a lot of fun and I like the result a lot!
live footage of me when she pulled up the powerpoint presentation about what had happened in previous movies and I realised it was actually happening:
