Time to play "molting cardinal" or "skeksis" (reddit calls molting cardinals "bloodcheeps")
Happy Parade of Horribles Day to all who celebrate! This is a series I didn't know I needed when I first started listening a few years ago.
Did anyone else's church youth group have lockouts where'd you go to watch night court for a couple hours then hit up Waffle House around 2 or 3 am? Just mine?
I'm sewing a wheelchair poncho for a friend, with PUL slippery like an eel on one side & a super plush minky that is soft & fluffy like a bunny on the other. I really had to dig deep for this because what even is happening? Is there a seam there? Did I manage to catch both sides? Fuck if I know.
It's been reprinted within the last year! It was on the "new" table at my local indie store. My other favorite was Lady Cottington's Pressed Fairy Book by Terry Jones
City hall, Saratoga Springs NY. Crowds stretched all the day down to Congress Park at the opposite end of Broadway.
We got our beloved Stanley shortly after the Mango Menace was elected in 2016, a bright spot of happiness in a scary world. Ha. Hahaha. We said goodbye to him yesterday, ending a 2+ year long struggle with megaesophagus and whatever neuro thing started happening. Goodbye Bestest Boy
If you're not celebrating the Ides of March with the rest of Tumblr, what even are you doing? Thousands of amazing posts today
A Parade of Horribles. Princess Donut, Florin, Imani, etc. The Dungeon Crawler Carl series byatt Diniman is just...you tell people and everyone thinks you're out of your fuckign mind when you go on and on about how good it is and inspiring right now *waves hands* even my snobby book club is hooked
Superb Owl Sunday Photo taken in upstate NY February 7, 2015 #borealowl #birding
Here's my Superb Owl: a boreal owl hung out on our feeder all day in upstate NY in 2015. It was the first sighting of this little guy in NY since the 70s. When we posted about, people flipped out and wanted to drive from as far as Indiana and hang out in our back yard to see it again.
WTF when did it change to 15 oz when many recipes call for 2 cups? Name brand, store brand, it doesn't matter. They're all now 15 oz.
So Clover is a really fun game, definitely would recommend if you like playing with words and it's accessible for a big range
I've been all bff with my friend E since middle school (1988!) and I only get to see her for a few hours every few years, and a few weeks was one of those yime. We were in a gift shop at Cheekwood, and I saw a funny card and said "we shld send each other cards once a month" anyway this just arrived
The youngest teen was moved enough to make a statement on their Tumblr account about dinner the other night.
Ran across a painted cell for a Maurice Sendak cartoon at an antique store, just labeled "painted cartoon cell". They clearly had never seen it. I feel like this is some weird degrees-of-separation thing because they had no idea what show it came from and I did so therefore Maurice and I are BFFs.
Today's pastry haul from Bakery Suzanne just outside Saratoga Springs NY. Starting clockwise with the morning bun in the white bakery bag, then a Morello cherry Danish, Meyer lemon and caramel basket, hen of the woods Danish (in shadow) and a chocolate pecan croissant
I have to quilt this before my mom gets up here Saturday. It was pieced by my grandmother. My aunt has held onto it for decades. I don't want to do it bc my gmother purposely and purposefully ruined the lives of everyone close but my aunt really is wistfully nostalgic. It's novel/book stuff #quilts
