I write about movies. Sometimes I talk about them. Usually just write. Award-winning screenwriter for what it's worth. Film instructor at the University of Colorado, Denver, but ridiculous social media presence definitely my own.
Watched REDUX REDUX (which features my dear friend @jimmycthatsme.bsky.social in a small role) and was impressed by its ambition. A potentially stale premise given resonance by a committed script and exceptional performances. Solid.
Val Guest's JIGSAW (1962) is so good. I wish there had been a decades-long franchise of Jack Warner's Detective Inspector Fellows and Ronald Lewis' Det. Jim Wilks sidekick flicks.
MY BRILLIANT CAREER is a very fine film from the Aussie New Wave with a very fine Sam Neill paired against Judy Davis's force of nature.
I talked to Mitch McConnell for a few minutes this morning. It was not... great.
Here we are outside the Googys diner Johnnies which the film refurbished and stands empty now but for film productions.
I talked to Mitch McConnell just now. I sent his shriveled ass into the motherfucking light.
Had this little one-of-a-kind Chris Walas sculpture for a few years now. Finally found a cake stand for it.
THE INVITE is like a Charlie Kaufman project but without the genius of his vulnerability. I had fun, everyone's killing it, but I didn't buy it, is what I'm saying.
Catching up with Adam Carter Rehmeier SNACK SHACK (2024) and it's, what's the word? phenomenal.
June. Absolutely brutal. Wrote over 40,000 words - various other projects/assignments. I wouldn't trade it, but I'm broken down. 88 films for a 2026 total of 473. Best 1st watches: Kåre Bergstrøm's LAKE OF THE DEAD; Samoski's DEATH OF ROBIN HOOD; Avalon Fast's CAMP & Douglas Sirk's SLEEP, MY LOVE.
What's the debate tactic where you combine ad hominem with noting a single element of an argument to invalidate the whole of an argument?
Why are people so *determined* to *not mind* eating shit sandwiches? As if there's not an extraordinarily well-stocked and open 24hr deli making delicious sandwiches *right* *there*?
You know a great female-centered superhero film? Julia Hart's FAST COLOR.
Good to know there are other VAMPIRE'S KISS fans out here in the boonies.
This kid, Jackson Cloud, playing a solo set in Boulder's @tridenthalifax.bsky.social tonight. Going places.
Found a pretty great review of SUPERGIRL in the Tom King source material somehow.
