That isn't just the food and drinks; that amount also covers renting out the 1000-person capacity restaurant with enough personel to serve lunch for 850 people all at once. I think the 'hallway track' is by far the most important part of a conference, so I find it important we invest in that.

A large restaurant filled with many Rustaceans. There are quite a few 6-person booths with people having conversations.

Look at how precise this thing is. Unbelievable.

Many tiny Rust logos cut out of white paper. A measuring tape is visible for scale, showing that the logos are smaller than a centimetre each.

I feel so powerful now, being able to inflict the wonders of Comic Sans onto every single object in my house.

Someone made the mistake of getting me a UV laser engraving machine. ... (It was me.)

An egg with the word "egg" engraved into the shell. The top layer of the shell is gone and the layer below it is visible in those letters. There are no burnmarks or discolorations, somehow.

I can't believe it's already been two weeks.

All the speakers, workshop trainers, volunteers, and organizers standing in front of a huge cinema screen. The screen is showing RustWeek 2026, and the subtitles say "yeah. Pictures. Who's got a good camera?"

My favorite part of the credits roll was the very last part, where we announced the dates and location for RustWeek 2027 perfectly in sync with the last "bang" of the audio. At that same time, the info screens downstairs in the cinema all switched to displaying the same information, with a QR code.
