Day 15: that has a minimalistic design I do own the black album (Metallica) but it’s got that grey snake. And there’s the new Alter Bridge album, but it has a textured background. And this one has fewer letters. It isn’t Def Leppard’s best known album, but it is the one with the shortest title.

Day 13: that is yellow Shinedown - Attention Attention I’m pretty sure that’s the yellowest album in my collection.

I have been very pleased to see Amnesty International’s recent reporting on the organised nature of transphobic hate in the UK. At a time when these organisations have the ear of the government, the courts and the media, having an internationally respected human rights organisation standing in opposition to them could be vital. That the recent report, “A Growing Threat” explicitly named a large number of these organisations was very helpful.
I know that the leaders of these organisations are aware that you did so, and given that they are extremely litigious, it seems likely that Amnesty International will have been threatened with legal action in response. However it was still disappointing to see the report withdrawn, if only temporarily. I hope that it will swiftly be made available again, and Amnesty will stand firm against genocidal bigotry. Trans people have little choice but to do so, and any ally backing down is keenly felt.

I’m pretty sure it was Sorcery+ on the Amstrad CPC-6128, although my dad must have taught me a lot of the “this weapon kills those things” and “these objects unlock certain doors” combinations.

The information in the bottom part of the screen declares, “you are above the chateau, carrying nothing”, energy is at 74%, and the spell book on the right, which gradually disappears to indicate time running out, is mostly intact at this point. There was a spawn point near this screen, which is presumably where this player started.
The gameplay area is a side on 2D view. The player wizard is flying above a French chateau, with lots of pointy roofed turrets. A ghost is in hot pursuit of the wizard. A monk (I think) is patrolling a part of the roof, which features a trapdoor. Under the trapdoor is an imprisoned wizard. The player needs to unlock the trapdoor to free the wizard. There are seven more prisoners in other parts of the map.
Once you rescued them all, you had to return to The Sanctuary to complete Act 1. In Act 2 you explored a different map, facing different enemies, with the goal of collecting four hearts and using them to defeat The Necromancer (who was a pair of giant floating eyes, for some reason).

It’s a 2D (side elevation) game. The player character (I think he was called Rockford) is in a short tunnel. Most of the level is made of soil, which Rockford can dig through, expanding his tunnel as he goes. Objects left unsupported will fall downward. The goal is to collect enough diamonds to open the exit gate without getting squashed by falling objects, caught by a monster or trapping yourself so that you can’t actually get to the exit.

I had a wonderful day today at Trans Pride London. Wonderful atmosphere and staggering turnout (~100k for a demographic with ~300k in the country!) Great speakers, and a chance to meet up with some good friends. Inspiring and rejuvenating. These things are good for the soul.
