Part-way through elementary school, a teacher realized I couldn’t see the chalkboard and suggested I get my eyes tested. When I got thick glasses soon after, I realized for the first time that you could see leaves while they were still up on trees.
Hopkins was my first big bike battle after moving back to Berkeley. The initial Hopkins Council referral, from 2018, is itself old enough to ride a bike. If this very reasonable compromise doesn’t work, my fall-back plan is car-free Hopkins.
It's hard to imagine that intersection getting *less* hospitable to pedestrians, but taking away sidewalk would definitely go in that direction. I also have to wonder how the WB left change is justified considering that that left turn is banned during commute times.
