So lovely to actually get out of the house to go on a wee jaunt with @signeru.bsky.social to @metaphrog.bsky.social’s book launch in Glasgow last night. Enjoyed hearing about all the work and inspiration that when into the fabulous Wilomina. And great to finally meet @alastairc.com in person!
I’ve been really struggling with reading, quite frankly for months. But this week I finished two excellent books that are helping to reignite my spark.

This week I’m reading some gorgeous non-fiction that I’ve had through for review. All looking absolutely brilliant.

We had our kids’ graphic novels chat this week and we were discussing the utterly wonderful Cabin Head and Tree Head. Lovely to have the excuse to revisit it and it felt like a particular joyful way to round up our latest year of chats.
Ooh, I very much like the look of that DK book. We do often dip into the excellent McGee to answer curious questions at the dinner table but I suspect the DK might be a tad more accessible for those of us without a PhD in food science.

Today is 10 years since my breast cancer diagnosis. It’s been a rough ride but I’m immensely grateful for every day that I’m still here, getting to watch my boys grow up. Thinking of my beloved friends who weren’t afforded the same privilege. Don’t forget to check your boobs folks.
Gosh, I wish I knew so I could bottle it. I’ve had a lot on, so my fatigue has been pretty bad. So maybe just a free weekend ahead and some actual sunshine. But I suspect Dan Santat’s joyful new comic has probably helped me over the hump.
