These are my two pups - blond one is a dachsie-yorkie mix, dark one is a purebred yorkie rehomed to me by a nieghbor. They are upset that I am in the chicken yard and they aren't.

A bantam rooster of uncertain type, older, on the left. There is a wiwre cage in the background and the shredded wood litter on the "floor". At the right near the cage is his mate, and in the foreground is a green dish we use for feeding them treats.

Five of the seven dwarves, so named because there are seven bantam chicks. Several are budding rooster. A sixth chick is just seen to the far left. There is a support for a perching toy, a blue pool filled with dirt for bathing and scratching in, a pea gravel fllor. The rear of the photo shows the run support and wire, and the blue is a tarp for shade. Pieces of 4x4s line the edges to keep the pea gravel inside the run.

Good morning Amiyo! I have new photos! This is a cucumelon, a tiny cucumber that looks like a tiny watermelon - but it tastes like a cucumber!

Although this gourd is not looking so pretty now, it is home to a pair of wrens and their hatchlings. In the early morning I've been watching the parents bring food, zipping in and out of the tiny hole.

Gourd I painted up in 2024. The paint has faded and peeled now, but it is home to a pair of wrens and their hatchlings at the moment - so I won't be repainting it anytime soon!

June 18 (Reuters) - Meta Platforms has lobbied the U.S. Congress for legal immunity from child-harm claims tied to ‌social media products such as Instagram, as it faces thousands of lawsuits from young users and their families, according to a source familiar with the matter and proposed legislative language reviewed by Reuters.
If adopted by lawmakers and passed into law as part of the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) under consideration in the U.S. Senate, such a provision could undermine thousands of lawsuits against Meta and other online platforms over harms to children. Meta and Google's YouTube face a combined $6 million in damages after they lost the first case at trial early this year.

The desert grassland whiptail lizard (Aspidoscelis uniparens) is an all-female species of reptiles in North America. It was formerly placed in the genus Cnemidophorus. A common predator of the whiptail lizard is the leopard lizard that preys on A. uniparens by using ambush and stalk hunting tactics.[2][3][4] These reptiles reproduce by parthenogenesis. In this process, eggs undergo a chromosome doubling after meiosis, developing into lizards without being fertilized. However, ovulation is enhanced by female-female courtship and mating (pseudo-copulation) rituals that resemble the behavior of closely related species that reproduce sexually.[5][6][7]

This was a small pig, roasted in a cooker (to the left) being cut up. Usually there are 3 machetes going at it, a dozen people reaching in to grab a piece of hot pork. Most times a pit is dug, lined, filled with charcoal wood. Larger pig goes on a spit, is rotated for 10, 12 hours. mmmmm, good.

Funally dug out the coverlet I was working on - crochet - and put aside about 8 years ago. It's only lap-blanket sized right now... The center and edges are actually a deep but shiney purple.

How has the process for selecting candidates for president changed?

Article two of the U.S. Constitution lists the legal requirements to run for president as well as the process to follow when electing the president. However, the Constitution says nothing about how to nominate a candidate to run for president.

Currently, candidates go through a series of state primary elections and caucuses where, based on the number of votes they receive from the electorate, they win a certain number of delegates. The delegates—people authorized to represent their state—will vote for their assigned candidate at their political party's convention.

Presidential primaries, as we experience them today, are a recent phenomenon in the country’s history. This resource examines consequential moments in time through primary sources to consider the question, “How has the process for selecting candidates for president changed?”

How the Parties Differ in their Nomination Processes
Iowa and New Hampshire Caucuses start the nomination process of the Republican and Democratic Party, and each party has its own set of rules guiding the nomination process.

To win a nomination from the Republican Party, for instance, a candidate has to secure at least 1,277 out of 2,552 delegates at the 2024 Republican National Convention that will take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from July 15th to July 18th, 2024.

The global Tibetan diaspora, encompassing Tibetans in over 30 countries, will participate in elections in February and April of 2026 to elect the leaders of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), which is recognized by Tibetans around the world as their legitimate government. Tibetans will choose the political head of the CTA, known as the Sikyong, and 45 members of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPiE).

The CTA in Dharamsala, India, is composed of three pillars: the judiciary as represented by the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission; the legislature as represented by the TPiE; and the executive as represented by the Sikyong and his cabinet. While the three Justice Commissioners are elected by the TPiE, the Sikyong and the 45 Members of the TPiE are freely, democratically and directly elected by Tibetans around the world outside of Tibet. Political authority has rested solely with the elected CTA leadership since 2011.

The autonomous Central Election Commission (CEC) conducts the elections, including deciding and publishing the schedule and guidelines.
