I finished this over the weekend! I wanted to see if I could do a sort of watercolour effect in embroidery.

The embroidery from the quote post image, but completed: a full coverage embroidery does in wool/silk crewel split stitch on off-white linen in a plain wooden hoop. The image is a gradient of horizontal stripes of soft blues, down through greys, lavenders, mauves, into soft pinks, mimicking the sky at dusk. In the top right is a full moon in white. A border of dark brown is stitched around the whole thing, like a fame. I'm holding in up in my living room wearing bright red nail polish.

Same embroidery hoop, but against a teal wall, which softens and warms the colours.

Needed a pick-me-up today and the PERFECT one came in the mail: my perfume samples from @kateschapira.bsky.social's fundraiser!

I have been CRAVING a Cobb salad for ages, and today I finally made my dreams come true

I remembered this Tony Hoagland poem that I loved, that a friend sent me when we were 18 and sending each other poems on MSN messenger

I tromped all over West Broadway today and I'm I'm pretty sure every lilac, honeysuckle, and apple tree in the place has burst out in a torrent of blossom in the last three days

This tree smells so good right now

A small tree with an almost comically voluminous canopy in blossom between a sidewalk and a parking lot. The blossoms look like lilacs but I don't think they are. The sky is an extravagantly bright blue.
