Here are some snippets from my illustrated essay, "An American Enby Moves to Japan," about how my sartorial expression shifted when I moved from the USA to Japan, published in the queer fashion blog Just Femme + Dandy 💋💋💋 Read the article at: justfemmeanddandy.substack.com/p/200267bc-1...
Update: Baby has crawled under the fence to be with my next-door neighbors. I will move Baby into a tree again once it is dark, to keep them safe from cats and raccoons. I sure hope their wings grow soon!
I am happy to say that Baby survived the night. I have canceled my social plans today and will help their parents keep watch against crows and other predators today.
After a bit of fretting, I decided to put Baby in a nearby tree. They were so SOFT! And very angry at me, but they quickly settled down and went to sleep.
When night fell, I was alarmed to find Baby perched on a rock, looking very tasty to nocturnal creatures.
Look at this baby scrub jay running around in my backyard 🥹. I've been keeping the dogs inside so that Baby stays safe. (Its parents are feeding him and chasing away squirrels etc.)

Put on some absurdly glam nails with me! I went into Don Quijote for an umbrella and somehow came out with these beasts 💅
A few years ago I made a series of collage portraits of friends and people who have influenced me in positive ways. Each one used photographs I personally took and hand dissected, of gemstones, clouds, flowers, and other things from real life.

Approximately a year after I began this project, I have finished the embroidery part of my larger-than-lifesize self-portrait “Queer Rage in Exile.” Next I will decide how to display it and where. I’m open to ideas as to where this should be displayed, so please reach out if you have suggestions!
This audiobook had me laughing and screaming and groaning. What a delightfully nasty story. A+++ to @tkingfisher.com
In 2013, I made an essay for XOJane about being sexually harassed on a panel of my colleagues. I anonymized the harrasser, but he outed himself a couple days later, issuing a public non-apology ("Sorry you didn't get my sense of humor"), which led to his fans barraging me with hate + death threats.
I know I’m not supposed to respond to trolls, but this guy (posing with what is presumably his daughter in his facebook profile) responded rudely to my post about being sexually harassed and I couldn’t help myself
