The first full episode I watched was "The Circus", and while I was enchanted throughout, the moment at the end where Stolas stands up to his abusive wife and tells her he endured all these years so that their kid would have a less lonely childhood than his own? Team Stolas for life.

Most of Tey's books have not aged well for me, sadly, but Brat Farrar is still a really good mystery read. I was trying to think of the right classification - it's not a detective novel at all - so I searched, but all I could find was reasons not to use AI-generated book blurbs. Sigh.
