Let’s chat about ships: www.starboardintelligence.com,
🇨🇳, possibly 🇷🇺, and now 🇺🇸💰 "A large space rocket belonging to Elon Musk's SpaceX is being towed to the shores of Christmas Island after landing in the Indian Ocean, in an unusual spectacle for locals." www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08...
Tug looks like POMOR, but the AIS track is too messed up to be able to nail down a likely date. www.marinetraffic.com/nl/ais/detai...
Looks like it happened today, 12 August (Taiwan local time). @starboardintelligence.com app.starboard.nz/link/6oh39yi...
Ukraine’s (completely justified) feelings about the existence of Wildberries warehouses
Three Chinese satellite-tracking vessels had pre-positioned across the Pacific weeks earlier — at least two departing around June 25 — which @starboardintelligence.com analyst Mark Douglas noted indicated the test "has been planned well in advance."
PM-82 on Copernicus. No sign of ADMIRAL GRIGOROVICH - so we may be looking at before or after resupply. Thanks @te3ej.bsky.social for your amazing work! browser.dataspace.copernicus.eu?zoom=15&lat=...
Amazing photo in this report from @navylookout.bsky.social. I can’t see the date it was taken or the name of the photographer. “RFS Admiral Grigorovich rafts up with the supply ship PM-82 to conduct hazardous fuel transfer in the North Sea, near the Galloper wind farm off Suffolk”
France has seized another tanker - DELIVER #IMO9194983 with questionable but not officially false flag and no P&I Insurance records as per @starboardintelligence.com. Sanctioned by UK, EU, NZ, AUS, and CAN and carrying a load of Russian oil. Thanks @vesselspotter.eurosky.social for the tag.
"...analysis suggests the fields affected by the Strait's closure could get back to 70% of prior production within three months and to 90% within six months. The last 1 million bpd or so will take considerably longer," analysts at Wood Mackenzie said.
I'll take "vessels that are going to avoid the English Channel" for $100.
Transmitting Cameroon but flag false according to @starboardintelligence.com and S&P database
I’m not sure what’s up with Marine Traffic but the fraudulent flag change happened at the same time she dropped of their system. It happened to other platforms as well (but not @starboardintelligence.com 😄) Then she traced the Iceland/Faroe Islands EEZ before going well west of the UK and Ireland.
@tiafarris10.bsky.social, @spectrecrouton.bsky.social UNIVERSAL #IMO9384306 now underway as of 22 May 17:30h UTC, heading South East at 10 knots. Doesn't appear weather related. Maybe the Cuba trip has been postponed. @starboardintelligence.com link: app.starboard.nz/link/7qksxpc...
JS KUMANO in Wellington Harbour - continuing here time down under. @alxluck.bsky.social, @warshipcam.bsky.social
Have you tried @skylightmarine.bsky.social? Login is free and you’ll be able to spot dark tankers to your heart’s content. @starboardintelligence.com has wider AIS coverage and a bunch of other advantages but Skylight is excellent for tanker spotting! @supbrow.bsky.social
Looking at all the sanctioned vessels in 2026 on @starboardintelligence.com you spot vessels avoiding the WETREP, some avoiding the Channel but happily go through the Irish EEZ and even go through the Scotland/Shetland Islands gap. @vesselspotter.bsky.social, @pa.nton.cx, @maikmarahrens.bsky.social
I mean, tell me if you want WETREP avoidance, Channel avoidance, or anything else.. I’ve got 15 avoiding the WETREP this year
I've probably under-counted, but I see 35 sanctioned that were in the area in the last 7 days. I count 8 that took the southern route, but they all end up in Swedish territorial waters off Gothenburg. So it's a localised effect, but the fear is real - long may it last.
Bang on for travelling at 5 knots @starboardintelligence.com app.starboard.nz/link/8psayi3...
I recently spoke to Duncan McRae of the Saltwater Strategist podcast navalinstitute.com.au/category/podcast/. It was great to talk about the work @starboardintelligence.com is doing to bring operational advantage to the maritime domain - across military, law enforcement, and industry
Bad, but not terrible: app.starboard.nz/link/sibq0pe... @conorgallagher.bsky.social
@starboardintelligence.com shot with AIS data points. Note the basemap is a stock satellite layer not “live” satellite data.
I’ve seen multiple “it’ll buff out” but surprisingly few Monty Pythons
@starboardintelligence.com shows the first of two Indian-flagged LPG tankers have transited the Strait. app.starboard.nz/link/v65xbua...
