I'm in the midst of moving, but still want to share something for #WIPwednesday! A short modern #jayvik su that I'm hoping to finish for Disability Pride Month. If not, sometime later this summer. 🥰❤️

Jayce and Vi’s booth is popular, and not just with kids. Teenagers and even some adults end up there, making everything from paper cranes and lanyards to signs for the next protest.
Jayce does his best to help with the projects, but admittedly, he isn’t really an artist. “I’m confused why Jinx wasn’t assigned here,” he says. He winces at the glue stuck to his fingers.
Vi snorts. “We’re literally making popsicle stick crafts, dude. Not really the epitome of creativity. Plus,” she smirks at him. “I’m pretty sure most of these girls are just lining up because of you.”
“Huh?”
“Don’t act dumb, pretty boy. I may be gay as hell, but you’re a total hottie. And sort of a legend around here.”
Jayce frowns as he cleans his hands with a wet wipe. He doesn’t want anyone looking at him like that. He isn't the Golden Boy anymore. He never was, really. He just got lucky—gifted with a sharp mind, a handsome face and college scholarship funding from his best friend’s rich family.

Desperate to change the subject, Jayce turns to Vi. “So, why does your sister call Viktor ‘Cookie?’”
Vi snorts. “Well, first of all, it’s short for ‘Fortune Cookie.’”
Jayce blinks. “Okay…”
“Back in the day, Vik used to be really into tarot cards. Used to carry a deck around and try to convince people to let him do a reading.”
Jayce gapes at her.
She grins. “He was super into mysticism, divination, all that shit. Probably secretly still is. Odd hobby for a scientist, I know.”
Jayce does know, actually. In all his years as a model student and researcher, his biggest quirk was his intense love for magic tricks and sleight-of-hand. He even tried to impress Mel with a few on their first date. (She’d seemed charmed, at the very least.)
So yeah. He of all people has no reason to tease Viktor for his cryptic interests. He grins, absently organizing some origami paper as he ponders how he might bring it up the next time they chat.

Well I didn't finish as much as I planned... but here's a #WIPWednesday sneak peak of my newest #jayvik! I'll be taking a break from it just for a bit so I can start working on a fic for a fan exchange. But I'm really passionate about this story, so I hope to continue soon. 🙏🥰

“Distracted, Jayce?” She comes up from behind, startling him for at least the sixth time that day. He turns to scowl at her, but she just winks and nods toward Viktor. “I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if you join him. Since you don’t seem to be in the mood to dance.”
Wincing, Jayce leans toward his friend. “I’m sorry, Sprout. I just don’t think…”
She grabs his arm. “It’s okay, Jayce. Really. I just miss you, ya know?”
He does know. He knows he’s been distant, refusing to spend time with her and their other friends. His volunteering for Disability Pride is the first time in a long while he’s even ventured out of his own neighborhood.
“Take it easy,” Cait says, squeezing him gently. “Enjoy the rest of the show. And remember, after cleanup we’ll be hitting the town!”
Oh. Right. The afterparty. Jayce is sort of dreading it. There will probably be lots of drinking and bar food and probably some intense karaoke battles. He’s unsure if he’ll survive it, honestly.
He watches Cait head out to find Vi, then looks back toward the stage. He immediately locks eyes with Viktor. The man seems startled at first, eyebrows shooting up. But quickly his face settles into a soft expression.
Jayce holds his breath.
“Hey,” Viktor mouths. And then, as if in slow motion, he winks, before turning his attention back to the band.
Holy shit!

Happy #WIPWednesday! Last week I started a new fic inspired by #JayVikDisabilityWeek on BlueSky. I found out about the fan week too late to finish this story, but thankfully the organizers will be keeping up with late submissions for the next month. 🙏🥰 Wish me luck at completing it in time! #jayvik

A huge crowd of people have gathered at City Hall with their signs, chanting slogans as they demand attention from their government.
A few messages catch Jayce’s attention: One groups calls for the rights of married disabled people. Another is pressuring local leaders to expand mental health services. Near the bottom of the steps, a young girl holds a sign demands that they to make government buildings more accessible for wheelchair users.
It’s frustrating, seeing how many issues the community deals with daily. But the gathering is also incredibly positive. Jayce glances around, absorbing how happy and motivated everyone seems.
“C’mon, Jayce!” Cait pulls at his arm. “Grab a sign!”
Since most of their group had been busy planning the resource fair, Jinx and Isha had taken on the task of making signs. They’re extremely colorful, splattered with spray paint and glitter, with bold scripts and lot so exclamation points.
Jayce blinks as Isha pushes one such sign into his hands. It reads PRIDE TO ALL ABILITIES in bright pink and blue.

“Oh,” he nods as the girl, trying his best to sign out the phrase Thank you to her with his free hand. She giggles, scampering back to Jinx.
He looks back down at the sign, then past it to his prosthetic leg. He swallows harshly and takes a shaky breath. Maybe this was a mistake. He’s not ready to do something like this. Maybe he should just—
“Are you all right?”
Jayce flinches as Viktor appears at his elbow. The man is again looking at him with an inquisitive expression. One of his eyebrows is cocked, and there’s a hint of a smile at the corner of his mouth.
“Y-Yes” Jayce shakes his head. “Totally. I’m just… standing here.” It’s a ridiculous claim; Jayce knows he probably resembles a scared rabbit. He can feel his hands trembling.
Thankfully, Viktor just nods. “All right. We should probably line up with the others, then. The march will soon begin.”
Nodding, Jayce follows Viktor into the fray. He can do this. He’s here with his friends. Everyone in this crowd is his ally.
So why does he still feel so out of place?

Here's a tiny snippet for #WIPWednesday from the huge #bokuaka fic I'm working on, starring rich kid Akaashi and his bodyguard Bokuto! 🤗❤️ I'm almost done with chapter 5. A few more to go... please wish me luck 😅 lol

When he opens the changing room door, he finds Bokuto leaning against the opposite wall. A few bags from other stores sit at his feet. He seems a bit tired. Keiji isn’t sure why—they’re only three shops in! The man looks up, and his eyes widen as they land on Keiji.
“I don’t have much of a summer wardrobe yet.” Keiji angles his palms to the floor, then spins in a circle slowly, trying to emulate how he’s seen his mother model a piece. “This could work, right?”
“I guess,” Bokuto says noncommittally, but his gaze hasn’t left Keiji’s form.
Keiji hums. “These aren’t too short, are they? My legs are kind of long so standard sizes don’t always fit right.” Slowly, he braces himself in the doorway, extending one leg into the aisle and pointing his toe. He feels the shorts ride up his thigh slightly.
“Um,” Bokuto says, voice strained. “Well…” His eyes flick down to Keiji’s long limbs, and Keiji delights in the pink suddenly blooming on the man’s cheeks.
