Middle-aged dad. Small town UMC pastor. Dodgers fan! Slow, but persistent reader. Trying to be a decent person, if I’m not, feel free to call me on it.
According to the MLB app, James Paxton didn’t exist in 2024. I’ll check back on Lauer in a couple years.
Can someone please fix search engines? Don’t ask DuckDuckGo about the kind of ball used in the Steph Curry’s movie GOAT.

The perfect way to spend the day off. A hike to a quiet Alpine lake and a good book. Life and Art by Richard Russo is a thoughtful read that I’d highly recommend. #BlueskyReads #BookSky #SummerReading
A Methodist pastor and Catholic priest go on a hike. That’s it. That’s the story. #ecumenism #CaliforniaIsGod’sCountry

A book that will make you think, make you appreciate, will educate you, and may just move you into a new practice of care for nature. As someone who has always felt connected to the divine when immersed in nature, I found Karen Armstrong’s Sacred Nature resonating and also challenging.
I’m astounded how some people think this is not child endangerment but gender-affirming care is.
My wife and I went to Sacramento to join the Transgender Unity Rally. It was good to see people showing up to care for and support one another in these bleak times. #TransRights (Sorry for the terrible photo)
Sometimes you just have to make time to see the world’s largest artichoke. #SelfCare #RoadSideAttractions
A few years ago I sat in on a lecture by Anna Carter Florence. Man next me says her book completely changed his preaching. Well, I finally got around to reading Preaching as Testimony. It’s not a book about form or style, it’s about preaching as God empowers us to tell what we’ve seen and believed
