Yes, most of the sums relate to Westminster elections. Obviously council ward by-elections are much smaller and don’t require anything like the staffing or other expenses. As an example, Coventry City Council put this out in an FoI response in 2023. Between £25-30k seems to be the norm.
I understand what you’re saying, but there are uphill battles and there is Everest to climb. We’re closer to the latter here.
On this ‘auspicious’ day, I only have one question for our current government: “Why do you continue to support a project that was born of lies, deceit and xenophobia, that has - by every measure - failed and that the majority of people in the UK now do not support?”
