This page was inspired by (very) old school Grand Theft Auto. Art, of course, by Si Smith. It’s from our book Gigs.
Si knows what having a good time looks like. We've got a story in @sxbond.bsky.social's upcoming subCULTURE anthology, and I can't wait to look at the rest of it. #comics #subculture #rave #folkhorror
New addition to the Absolute line, @dc.com? #GIGS #Comics #Art #Illustration
GIGS panel of the day, to remind us what cold feels like before the heat hits. Art by Si Smith. #comics #scifi #dystopia (I guess) #ProperWeather
Proper looking forward to seeing what else is in there. Here's a little slice of Si and I's contribution.
Here's OUR librarian. She gets about. This is the bookplate Si did for La Belle Adventure. Also, it's worth saying that while Gigs isn't Si's debut, it is very much his graphic novel too, and he does get appropriate kudos in the review...
Another starred review 🫠 "VERDICT Mosedale’s debut graphic novel, an impressively humane work of speculative fiction, is intense, riveting, and profound." - @libraryjournal.bsky.social www.libraryjournal.com/review/gigs-...
There’s a can of GIGS beer IN MY HOUSE! Though the picture is, I should admit, from my workspace in town…
I decided it wasn't my business to dictate page structure on my and Si Smith's book, Gigs, but he used the nine for a big chunk of it and got a lot out of it. Great for emphasising the repetition of daily life (important to the book) and then allowing a bit of joy to really pop.
One of our GIGS vignettes. Drawn by Si Smith. (I MIGHT have suggested some of the books). #GIGS #Comics #ComicsArt #Art
It's behind the paywall, so for those without a subscription (though the sub would be worth your money!) the headlines are: written by me, drawn by the amazing Si Smith, published by @topshelfcomix.bsky.social, out June 16th. More here: www.topshelfcomix.com/catalog/gigs...
You'd think I'd have got round to bellowing about the announcement of GIGS on here before now. But, here on the occasion of my favourite comics site, @sktchd.bsky.social, writing about it, is some news. Thank you, @davidharper.bsky.social, for the kind words. sktchd.com/column/comic...
Mugshots! By @jordanthomas.bsky.social and Chris Matthews, published by @madcavestudios.com. You can tell from the cover what a lovely eyeful it is, and based on issue 1 I reckon the writing's going to do the business too.
Errr… Is this, on my Facebook Portal, new? Why would I let Facebook edit my playlists etc? (Have I probably signed up for this kind of garbage before and not noticed?)
When Hawkman isn't a guy in a hawk mask, but a guy with a hawk's head on top of his head, he's the absolute creepiest. The new issue of The Vertigo Weekly Reader will be out soon, guest starring the Justice League being a bit feckless. markmosedale.substack.com
Me and my collaborator Si Smith finished our five-year, 272 page graphic novel, which I'm absolutely not posting an image from months before it's even announced.
Busted up Dredd, by Mick McMahon, from the strip Howler, written by John Wagner.
The Vertigo Weekly Reader Issue #2 is OUT: Saga of the Stump Thing. Or, for anyone who (quite reasonably) hates my pun: Swamp Thing and The Eerie. substack.com/@markmosedal... #Comics #Horror #Philosophy #Vertigo #DCComics #Superheroes #Monsters
New issue of The Vertigo Weekly Reader coming tomorrow: Saga of The Stump Thing. It’s about Swamp Thing and the eerie. Sign up here: substack.com/@markmosedale #comics #comicsart #Vertigo #writing #substack
I don’t feel like the ramifications of Flexi-Flesh’s invention are going to be fully explored in Alan Moore’s Saga of the Swamp Thing. #comics #DCComics #FlexiFlesh
A few years ago I'd have been embarrassed that this is my reply. Now I'm embarrassed that I was embarrassed. Post a perfect album from the ‘90s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, or Alice In Chains
ALSO COMING REAL SOON: my first published comics pages, in a Joe and His Killer Robot Dad special launching at Thought Bubble. It's designed and thumbnailed by the (actually, seriously) legendary Mick McMahon. (Do hashtags even work on here? #comics #ThoughtBubble #art)
