78) Battle Monsters Quite a mediocre fighting game, especially since you can just stand on platforms and keep kicking down the A.I. since they don't get I-frames while jumping up. But it was fun for a few minutes, lol.
76) Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 (PS2) Despite having grown up with this game, I never played the PS2 version before. It's definitely the better version, looking more appealing to the eye and having a bunch of unlockables. Still working on some of those actually! But I'll slowly chip away at it.
75) Arc Rise Fantasia A pretty neat Wii JRPG that seems to have been under many people's radars. The Scenario Writer guy also worked on Tales of games before and it's very noticable with all the skits and stuff. Battle system is pretty unique too. Not a secret masterpiece, but I liked it.
74) Tekken 4 Far from my favorite, but this game has such a unique aura. The early PS2 aesthetics are strong in this one. And it introduced wall splats and characters like Steve and Marduk. Was interesting going back to it.
73) The Last Blade (PS1) Seems like a pretty cool fighting game with a cool artstyle. Beat the story mode once, but I might try some other characters and stuff.
71) Tekken Tag Tournament Replayed this because I made this my 60th mastery on RetroAchievements. Big childhood favorite, still pretty fun! The A.I. is a bit too easy to abuse though, lol.
I never actually played the original NES version of FF before and ... I sure don't recommend that one! Honestly, from a historical standpoint this is a pretty great game. Liked it more than the first DQ for sure. But it has lots of stuff that makes it a bit frustrating to go back to.
69) Final Fantasy V: Advance FFV consumed my last few weeks. I was joining the Four Job Fiesta Event and ended up doing four runs to complete the achievement list. FJF is such a cool way to replay this game because ironically being restricted adds so much replay value, no run is exactly the same.
68) Warhammer 40k: Darktide Played this a whole bunch when it hit PS Plus. Think I got two characters to level 30, or close to it anyway. Will probably play more of it at some point. Like the mix of melee and shooter combat quite a lot.
67) Sly Cooper and the Thievous Racoonus Replayed this one after not even that long of a break (played the PS5 emulated version not too long ago) but it was fun once again. Got 100% again and went for all the retro achievements. Should get to Sly 2 some time.
66) Lego Indiana Jones 2 This one seems to be a bit of a black sheep in the franchise and I guess I can see why. It came out way to quickly after the previous one and having half of this game being dedicated to one of the worst Indy movies is certainly a choice. Way too many gimmick levels too.
65) The Simpsons: Hit and Run I think I never fully beat this in my childhood and yeah, I can see why. It's just a whole shit ton of driving missions with very little variety. The world is charming and there are some good gags, but overall I didn't enjoy it all that much.
64) Luna Abyss A pretty decent first person shooter that's only 30 bucks. Got a review code for it, so tried it out naturally. Feels like a mix of Doom Eternal (platforming) and Returnal (bullet patterns) to me, with some cool visuals. Just a fairly lackluster selection of guns.
62) New Super Mario Bros. Wii Not quite done with this one yet, still got plenty of optional routes to take and coins to collect, but I saw credits at least. Fun game, I think it gets an unfair rep for being somewhat "bland", but I don't think it lacks character or anything.
61) Disney's Tarzan (N64) Played this one a bunch in my childhood (though on PS1) and it was fun going back to it. Beat the entire game in a little over an hour without bothering to collect optional stuff. It's a pretty good platformer as was often the case for Disney stuff around that time.
60) Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars Never played this one before, but was surprised that it only adapts two out of all of the seasons (probably made sense at the time, didn't double check the release date) and still has so much content. It's a pretty decent game.
59) Super Mario Advance First time I touched Mario Bros. 2, never really had much interest in it since it's literally just a reskin of another game, but it was decent. Skipped a bunch of levels via warp zone though. I guess I just don't care much for this one in the end.
58) Crash Bandicoot 2 Everytime I replay this one I think "maybe this time it'll be my favorite" but nah, it's always Crash 3. This one may be more focused on platforming, but the types of levels are also slightly repetitive and I miss the time trials and stuff. Still a great game!
I know this is nothing new, but it's insane how much cooler the original Traveller's Tales intro was compared to the current one 😭
57) Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures I think ... I never played this one before? I only remember playing the second one on PS3, which was pretty decent I think. This one was okay, too. Just not the most exciting level design and some annoying rocket enemies later on. Got 100% here.
56) Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution Pretty decent fighting game, but without much depth. Story mode is way too barebones unfortunately without any real cutscenes to speak of ... I was also stuck with the English voices which I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.
55) Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga Played through this one pretty quickly to get points for a Wii event, but it was decent fun. Got me pretty nostalgic since I remember playing this one on PS2 back in the day. Wasn't interested in 100% this time, tho.
54) Kingdom Hearts II Haven't played the original KH2 since I was regularly using my PS2 and I would never recommend playing this version, but it was nice going back to the basics again. Mostly did it because of the achievement list and German dub. Still need to do some post game stuff.
52) Spyro: Year of the Dragon This one was always my favorite in the series as a child and yeah, it still is. The OST in this game is just full of bangers, I love the variety in this game (and the skateboarding!) and the bosses are really fun, too. Probably forever the best Spyro game.
