Woke up to a surprise very first bloom on my Swamp Rose Mallow (Hibiscus moscheutos). So many buds ready, I’m so excited! #NativePlants 🌱
I generally despise these creatures - maybe I’m getting soft or it’s the pretty sunset, but the little furry ones were just a little bit cute 🥰
While not the prettiest of #nativeplants 🌱, these Bush Honeysuckle (Diervilla lonicera) are loved by 🐝, amazing for erosion control on hills and in poor soil, and are tough - will beat out invasives like nothing else I’ve seen.
Its pretty, but at 6AM, already 83 degrees with a feels like 91 - not looking forward to the heat coming for us today.

Late in the office finishing up ahead of the long weekend, figured I'd find a #FluorescenceFriday to post before heading out... stumbled on this folder on our server that I hadn't yet snooped. I don't know exactly what the viral labels are, but its pretty beautiful 🔬🧠 😍🎆
I am so proud of the whole team, and excited for next steps. We are already building on these discoveries by examining spatial organization of D1 islands across the full anatomical extent of the NAc and integrating molecular maps with functional mouse circuit and behavior studies. So excited!!
Already this with tomorrow and Friday forecasted for quite a bit hotter - JFC 🥵
This study was a great collaboration w/ Luca Ursini and colleagues that we initiated over a decade ago (I did bench work!!). Congratulations to co-first authors @svitlanabach.bsky.social, who led this work during her postdoctoral training, and Giovanna Punzi for their outstanding contributions.
At least I will finish this puzzle that has been on my table for months while trying to figure out how to deal with my case of Monday.
