I agree that it isn’t impossible for Brandon Johnson to make the run off, and that these demographics could be his best voters. But unless “DSA” is just supposed to be shorthand for “progressive ideologues” that part is just crazy
I read this more as her or thinking through the implications of arguments in favor of defensive aid but still this is more radical on its face than anything a DSA endorsed candidate has ever said about this issue. Very funny!

I would give right-wing Democrats a lot less shit about wanting to “moderate” the party to win the Senate if I genuinely thought it would result in a majority willing to do things like pack the Supreme Court with a Democratic administration’s picks but they largely don’t

Sometimes people will play dumb about why Israel gets singled out as a uniquely bad actor. Our government having a uniquely extremist supportive relationship with theirs is part of the reason. The other part is that their officials post “I AM HITLER” on American social media all day long

While I'm at it, someone should check this math. Restaurants and bars need a license to sell booze to install VGTs. The number of active on premises and mixed consumption liquor licenses is around 3,500. 90% of qualifying establishments will have the max number of terminals? Huh???
Granted, Chicago is in a different financial position than a lot of these places. But even if it's genuine, look at Springfield, which has the most terminals in the state. These things are not moneymakers for municipalities. They primarily make money for small operators, venues, and the State
