We released the last of our swallowtails this morning. They were rescue caterpillars that had been getting gobbled up by our well-fed backyard birds and we wanted them to make it to adulthood. All 4 made it: Tabitha, Katrina, Penelope & Googly Eyes. Look at the masterpiece that is a chrysalis!!!

Had the privilege of cuddling these creatures a few years back and can confirm they are the softest, sweetest, snuggliest loves and that they are endangered is heinous. We don't deserve this planet but we sure as hell need to fight harder to preserve it.

Just finished reading Wonder by R.J. Palacio with my kids and we celebrated by illustrating our favorite precepts and leaving kindness rocks throughout our neighborhood. Crazy that #kindness feels so radical now, but I suppose that's what makes it more important than ever that we teach it.
