This setup is designed to fit in a standard airline carry-on hard case (minus batteries and the tripod). I’m using a Nanuk 935 case with some TrekPak-style dividers.
Now I’m testing 5 min exposures on the Monkey Head Nebula through some high altitude cloud. Using Antlia tri-band filter here.
Testing a new Zwo AM3N mount—part of an 80mm APO travel setup. So far, guiding looks good! For reference, I have a ~2”/px imaging scale. 🔭
LOL this is how I figured the McDonald's 11 am caviar promo would turn out.
Pump finally arrived. Installed and testing. (Paper towels arw for leak testing.)
Continuing a meme: Ruin a movie by replacing one word in the title with "Sausage". Here are a few: My Sausage Lady Snow White and the Seven Sausages A Sausage Named Desire
Well, that ain't gonna' work! Now that that snow removal's done, naturally the washer failed to drain. After siphoning the water out with leftover aquarium gear and disassembling, I see the impeller completely sheared off the rusted shaft. Pump is out of production at LG, but $50 on ebay.
Just a little snow here! I measured it at about 15 inches. #snow #snowstorm
This not-spoiled, brave Corgi refused to go potty until I had dug out a path across the deck and 15 feet into the yard. #snow #snowstorm
New office decorating :-) #mathbio #mathonco 🧪 Thanks for a great 2025, @fertiglab.bsky.social @coussenslab.bsky.social @jeanettejohnson.bsky.social @heberlr.bsky.social @liz-aguilar.bsky.social @rosvall-lab.bsky.social @juncowren.bsky.social & amazing collabs! Here's to new adventures in 2026!
I've started some light reading of a classic. 🧪 #mathbio #mathonco I'm inspired by great collaborators with @coussenslab.bsky.social, @fertiglab.bsky.social, Laura Heiser, and others to delve deeper and improve my immunology fundamentals.
In an unusual turn of events, AI search seems to lack self confidence.
Pleiades (Messier 45), 2025 edition. This gorgeous reflection nebula is high This combines 36 hours of imaging on a 115mm triplet across 2024 and 2025, taken from my Indiana backyard. 🔭🧪 High-quality prints are available from mathcancer.darkroom.com/products/neb...
It was cloudy in Bloomington last night, but we did manage to catch traces of last night's Kp7 aurora. Original photo straight off the camera (left), and minor photoshop work to bring out the pillar (right). 🔭
Here's a faster shutter speed and increased ISO to catch the snowflakes a bit better. I definitely expect an impact on Smurf yields
It's snowing on our Smurf habitat. Smokes Smurf jerky production may be impacted.
Honestly, speaking on a panel at the National Press Club is a bucket list item for me. What a thrill! My inner NPR nerd self is geeking out.
And now my heart friends and collaborators @fertiglab.bsky.social and Lisa Coussens are up! #NFCR 🧪
Really thrilled to be at the National Press Club today for the NFCR Summit on Cancer Care. My great friend @sandyanderson.bsky.social is on the first panel on AI and cancer care. I'll be on the next panel. :-) 🧪
Always a thrill to see my dear friend @sandyanderson.bsky.social present his groundbreaking work in model-guided adaptive cancer therapy at this year's @jktgfoundation.bsky.social breast cancer symposium. 🧪
So proud of this multidisciplinary project, showing in particular the power of community science when enabled by user-friendly design, bolstering deep expertise. In the 2024 solar eclipse, 11k observations from 1700 laypeople via a jointly developed, user-friendly smartphone app.🔭🧪
Coffee mug Saturday! In the grand tradition of @gbosslet.bsky.social, post your Saturday mug. Thrilled this survived the flight home last week. :-)
Had a nice clear moonless night in Bloomington! Getting calibration frames after a night of 180" filterless exposures on Barnard 150. 🔭
Excited to be this week's cover for the Math Oncology Blog (# 345): a 3D @physicell.bsky.social simulation written entirely in a new model grammar without code. Jointly made with @heberlr.bsky.social, based on our recent @cp-cell.bsky.social paper. #Mathonco #mathbio 🧪 doi.org/10.1016/j.ce...
Feeling inspired to discover now .... (At Newton's apple tree at Cambridge, or a sapling thereof ...) 🧪
