Apparently my YouTube channel is 11 today! The stats tell me my most watched video is one I did very early on about how Wolfenstein 3D (the DOS era game) worked. I've been threatening to make a Doom and Quake followup ever since...oops. www.youtube.com/channel/UCC3...
I seem to have a big where I keep losing sync but this could be the video encoding backpresuring the capture which obviously has to keep up...
Some people talk about "put it in godbolt and see what happens". In this photo the Cray's RAM usage was measured by putting Godbolt in *it* :)

Managed to distract myself completely yesterday instead of edit the next Two's Complement.
Had fun yesterday at the GCASR 2026 conference! It was a delight to be able to walk to it from my house, and I met some very interesting folks and learned a ton. My own awkward presentation was out of place but at least got some laughs! Thanks for having me!
Back from C++Now and wow, what a conference. I'd forgotten how beautiful the venue is, how intimate the setting, how friendly everyone is and how much you really get to know all the other attendees. Loved it!

Similar here in the outer edges of "war-torn" Chicago. Kids playing outside, folks walking their dogs in the uncommonly warm October afternoon. Some people have the audacity to water their lawns; unaware of the peril they're in!
Well, poo. Post conference cold is common; after all the stress of preparing and presenting, being surrounded by humans in a confined space etc it's not too surprising that after the come down, one gets a sniffle. Unfortunately mine came with a side order of losing my sense of smell :/
