Went to the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library today. And after being instructed to get my picture taken while entering my personal information (hard pass on that one guys) came across this sign. Absolutely do not freaking need this.

Rest of sign goes on to talk about how Roosevelt was an early adopter of technology, so why not have AI you can "talk" to.

Oh I have alright and I'm guessing the CB will prove this point correct from my favorite article on Smith:

Smith’s reputation, however, began to get away from him early on. Shortly after publication, The Wealth of Nations was fêted in the British Parliament by the Whig leader Charles James Fox. Ironically, Fox later admitted that he had never actually read it (few subsequent non-readers of the book have showed such candour, despite plenty of them citing it). Indeed, Smith suspected that those quickest to sing his praises had failed to understand the main arguments of his work. He later described The Wealth of Nations as a ‘very violent attack … upon the whole commercial system of Great Britain’. Despite this, his vocal political cheerleaders in Parliament continued to prop up the very system that Smith was railing against.

AP World score distributions were announced today. I guess AP Trevor provided some commentary on the bad site. So you might be thinking wow it's great 22% of exam takers can write complexly. Then you look at the rubric and see all they have to do is use all the docs provided in the question.

Complexity of analysis and reasoning. 22% of students earned the complex understanding point, the most demanding point on the DBQ, a differentiator between students achieving AP 5s, who are consistently earning this point, and students earning AP 4s, who are much less consistently earning this point within the intensity of timed, proctored essay writing.

May demonstrate a complex understanding through effective use of evidence relevant to an argument that
addresses the prompt. This may be done in a variety of ways, such as:
• Effectively using seven documents to support an argument that responds to the prompt; OR

They pictured a veteran English teacher who was still upset that cursive is no longer taught. Perhaps she would yell that AI is “just another shiny tech fad.” What’s next, she might ask — robots teaching kids how to read?

The educators asked Gemini, Google’s AI assistant, for advice and soon had a role-playing plan. They would win over this skeptical English teacher by explaining what generative AI could do for her: create classroom materials for phonics lessons, reducing what would normally be hours of work to just two minutes. The key, the educators agreed, was to avoid getting into an argument or letting this AI critic unload all her fears uninterrupted.

“Well, it’s not cursive, but it did save me an hour of typing tonight,” they predicted the English teacher would eventually reply.

Honesty though, was not expecting them to lead with this. Better stuff than what I would have expected.

The Florida Advanced Courses and Tests (FACT) US History course framework, published on May 4, 2026, imposes an overt ideological agenda on Florida public school students who seek to earn college credit before enrolling in higher education. By privileging political talking points over sound scholarship, the framework promotes outdated pedagogy and inaccurate history unworthy of Florida’s public schools.

In their neverending attempts to make college credit even easier to attain the College Board is revising parts of the written portion of the exam The most egregious is that there will now be one LEQ prompt. Which now looks like it will just cover the entire time boundaries of the course.
