The latest @loriostlund.bsky.social book is so good. Every story lands. You could teach a class — using only this book — on how backstory and present action can tangle each other up into so many different knots, rather than one just setting up the other. What a collection to get lost in. Loved it.

About 40 pages into the new Leni Zumas novel. Full of beautiful lines and just ran into a Dag Nasty reference. So yeah, this book is for me.

Lost in the latest Necks’ album this morning. There are no bad records from this band — in fact they’re all great — but this is right up there with their best work.

Love’s Work by @zacharycale.bsky.social is one of the best instrumental records of last year. Beautiful tones and textures on guitar, space for all the elements to stretch out, a hint of atmosphere at the edges. Beautiful stuff. #np

I feel like the past few years have seen an impressive run of deep, rangy, unpredictable, and just downright excellent story collections, and SAD GROWNUPS by @amystuber.com is one of the finest.
