It seemed like they tried a very accurate game plan tonight. Guys that haven’t hit fastballs this year are hitting them over their head, out. Jumping on, guys that haven’t hit spin well, hitting spin. Kind of the same thing with the split, maybe a couple movements not that great. I haven’t gone back and gone through each pitch and stuff, but I think it’s one of those maybe they know their weakness and it’s in the hole and they get to the spot a little bit earlier on a night I don’t have my great stuff. But I’ve pitched without great stuff at times too this year and had good games. So I’m not going to say that’s the full reason. They put really good swings on the ball and did the damage they did. I don’t want to take credit away from that. But yeah, definitely sucks. Not the way you want to start a series. But I guess we, positive side would be figuring out what not to throw them. That’s kind of how I try to look at it.

It’s the best stretch I’ve ever seen. I’ve played with some really good ballplayers, Soto, Ramirez, but what he’s doing right now it seems like every game he’s either going to get three hits or hit a homer. Not to mention the stuff he’s doing on the basepaths and in center field. He’s an MVP candidate. He’s definitely our MVP.

This is the longer answer:

Q: Given the need you have in the rotation, and the fact that he has done it, was there any conversation about stretching Morris back out?

The challenging thing is that you probably have to take him out of the bullpen to do that. and to do it, you probably have to option him and send him to St. Paul to get him stretched out. I think at this point, we did not even discuss that, nor thought about it. now, we would think about different ways we have to get creative to be able to do that. but when you shorten up a guy, to be able to lengthen him back out, just in respect to them and not only them, the club, and their health, we didn’t even discuss that.

For my hop water homies, this is probably the best one I’ve had. Definitely the best I’ve had of the more beer-flavored ones. The lagunitas are very good but more fruity than beery.
