The B-58 Hustler, a plane as fast and as sexy as it was useless. It was designed to go fast and drop nukes. By the time they got it working surface to air missiles had rendered it obsolete. But damn if it isn’t pretty.
They have both an A-6 Intruder and the later EA-6 Growler electronic warfare plane.
The B-52 isn’t even the biggest bomber there, either. They also have a B-36 Peacemaker. AKA the biggest piston engine bomber ever and the largest plane ever operated by the USAF. F-150 for scale.
The BUFF. It’s hard to conceptualize how big the B-52 is until you see it in person.
My grandfather used to work on B-24s, getting them ready to ferry off to Britain at the end of the war.
Starting strong with some WWII bombers. It was Open Cockpit Day, so guests could view the control seats of many aircraft and even go inside a few.
Air Force One and an SR-71 Blackbird just casually hanging out in the parking lot.
I was told that the air museum had a stealth fighter and was not disappointed.
