Is it a coincidence that my favourite armies in 1994 were the most tattooed? Who can say?
So... I just learned about the Utsuro-bune legend. Any reason to think it wasn't simply a mooring buoy? The one pictured here is about a century too late but... I don't understand why this isn't the leading candidate explanation?
Weird that the headline says "communist" but the body says " "The Mail has learnt that items of varying political ideology, including Russian material, have been found at the suspect's home and on electronic devices." Why would the Mail do that? 🤔
Everything is such a lark! She had very firm views, you see, but they existed amorphously, disconnected somehow from what she actually thought.
I don't understand the question. In the case of an emergency stop, outside intervention stops the movement, even if it is programmed to start moving automatically. (To be clear, "no intervention" means "within fixed conditions", so presets don't count as interventions).
And look, even using textualism - there's still no reason we should believe that the negative, limited textualist reading ("automatic" ≠ "non-derogable") is the correct one. There are plenty of definitions which would imply the opposite, including what the OED says is "usual".
You know that this photo of these nobodies was specifically included in the photo line-up of otherwise notable people just as a "fuck you" flex. The Spectator know what story they're telling. They know specifically who they're laughing at.
The Vaerting's made this point (or at least its antecedent) in 1923. This from the Translator'a foreword of the brilliant (if flawed to modern eyes) The Dominant Sex.
Have you seen this, from Brierley, on self-perception? Many BS members were participants in the study..
Hello I wrote two books. The first is also available in Polish and Italian; the second in French, German and Spanish.
This is closer but isn't a plot hole either, or a 'logic error" (of the plot). It's explainable by dumb characters, or by the fact that the dietetic impediments are not explicitly explained. I feel like I'm going crazy! You can find this annoying. It probably is annoying. But it's not a "hole"!
The third and final example is closer but... I also don't think this really counts either! Am *I* wrong here?
This is also not a plot hole. Characters not behaving optimally is not a plot hole! Have you MET people? People make suboptimal choices all the damn time!
This is the first "plot hole" on the Wikipedia page for "plot holes" and it is not a plot hole. It's just characters on both sides making bad decisions which do not have any obvious consequences on-screen.
"Whatever you think of gentrification, much of it is absolutely planned". What are we doing here, my guy?
🫠 Petition for this incredible design by Navinder Nagla to be the actual kit next time.
