I especially liked being able to recognise the location of the 'going for a walk' picture was. I recognised it as soon as I saw it. It's along the Rover Dove, facing south, and hasn't changed all that much.

I had a really enjoyable time looking at the John Dean a Semester in Nottingham, 1976 exhibition at the Bonnington Gallery (boningtongallery.co.uk/event/boning...) Lots of interesting and quite candid photos of Nottingham in '76, lovely. (I didn't take lots of pictures of the pictures, obviously.)

Three black and white photos, one shows the inside of a car with three people, one reading a map; one shows someone out for a walk alongside a river; one shows a land rover.

You can tell me that it's the Althorp Estate, but I know Kedleston Hall when I see it! (The Duchess, 2008)

I use the PlantNet app a lot, for this is says its most likely "Little Robin" but could "Herb Robert". I think probably little robin, given the red leaf edges. But I've been calling this Herb Robert for ages now! I see it in my garden all over. 🙂

Some of the ideas about university finances and student intake seem fairly sensible here, but further down the article it mentions (effectively) grading on a curve, which I'm not in favour of at all.

"Hepi (Higher Education Policy Institute) also recommends standardising degree classifications, so all providers would be limited to awarding 15% of classifications as a first, 35% as a 2:1, and the same for 2:2s, and 15% for a third. I. 2023-4, 28.8% of graduates were awarded firsts."

Well, this is infuriating and saddening in equal measure. An AI cheating service (let's call it what it is) that states simply that learning is 'busywork' so you should automate it away...and that would be you 'acing' your degree... Why do I even bother?
