Thanks to being #CovidCautious and #StillMasking, I haven’t caught a single contagious illness since my probable Covid infection in March 2020.

Do they always cluster on the same stalk? We have a handful of two-spotted longhorns that overnight on a leaf of African iris, and I’m pretty sure they always return to the same one. (Sorry about the poor photo quality.)

Old census records are fascinating. On this page from the 1850 census, where info is recorded about people who died in New Orleans that year, there's a German pilot named Miller (could it have been Müller?) who died from a common occupational hazard: as the census taker wrote, he was "Blown up!"

Line 12 of the census form says that a 30-year-old married white man from Germany named Miller (no first name listed), who was a pilot, died in February. Cause of death is "Blown up!" In last column, which asks for the number of days the person was ill, it just says "sudden."

I wear my N95 whenever I'm out in public. It's so comfortable I forget it's there. I haven't caught anything contagious since March 2020. Pretty great, actually.

The Archdiocese of New Orleans’s website says that Good Friday is the only day that Catholics don’t hold Mass, but they do hold a a Passion Liturgy that day.

Text from the Archdiocese of New Orleans website, which says, “Many Catholics in the archdiocese maintain a somber tradition of walking to nine churches in the area, symbolically following in the footsteps of Jesus as he carries his cross to Calvary.” A Passion Liturgy is given at each of those churches.

Moore from the archdiocese of New Orleans website: “This is the only day of the year that Mass may not be celebrated.” However, it also says that the archbishop will preside over Good Friday services at 3 PM on Good Friday at St. Louis Cathedral.
