This is whitest fucking crowd at the USMNT match in Seattle. It was a mistake to put this game in the Pacific Northwest. American soccer culture on the East Coast, in California, in the South etc. is so culturally diverse, like our team is, unlike these cosplayers.

So this is what it currently costs to take a Lyft from my home in Jersey City to the World Cup match in the Meadowlands. I’m sure the return trip would be more expensive but really makes the $98 NJ Transit train ticket look like a terrible deal, especially if traveling as a group of 2-4 people.

You should check out the Frankford El in Philadelphia. They rebuilt a new trackway on top of the old supports and it was a complete disaster - lots of noise and vibration and still all the bad street impacts. It was such a mess when they redid the Market Street El they rebuilt from scratch.

Greetings from the brand new Acela - my train was supposed to leave Penn Station 20 minutes ago, the bathrooms in both my car and the car next to my car don’t work, and the windows and seats are misaligned. But hey the WiFi is fast!
A frequent DMU shuttle on the Lower Coast Line could do wonders to reduce congestion, parking shortages, and drunk driving on the Jersey Shore and support local businesses and nightlife.
Genuinely great to see @jakeephros.bsky.social doing constituent outreach in Chinese - especially for a Newport-focused tenant training. There has been a massive influx of Chinese professionals and students to Jersey City, and I respect welcoming them as full citizens of our amazing city.

Ok I got curious and it seems the bus and Link take about the same amount of time - and this is midday, not rush hour! I assume the Link train is a lot more consistent and comfortable!
