I went to a class. Look what I made! Just need to figure out how to hang it.
I picked up the newest book in the series in Feb, and I started reading this in Jan, hoping to get caught up, since it's been 5 years and all I can remember of what was going on was *major spoiler*. Then I got distracted. On to Battleground, which is just the 2nd half of this book.
Speaking of doing things for myself, I went to a concert Wednesday, where Aimee Mann played the entirety of her album Bachelor No 2. It was absolutely lovely. And I went and got a Conglomeration at Mickey's beforehand, hadn't had one in years.
This was in my local library under a "local author" display. 9yo wanted to read it, so I had to preview to make sure it wasn't too scary. Real ghost, but not scary, mystery, slow burn romance. I enjoyed it. 5272/5000 Yay!
I'm sorry, I will not be able to participate in the Jimothy Fandom at this time. He gives me saluki vibes, and that dog gives me nightmares.
I've been reading this one off and on...it was a slow starter for me. I feel like I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't in the middle of action-packed DCC. It definitely picked up halfway through and I adored the dolphins the most.
Speaking of sexual content, I had been meaning to preview this book to give to 11yo. I was familiar with the authors from their webcomic, Oh Joy Sex Toy, and I really appreciated their informative and inclusive approach, and this book follows those values. It will be a good basis for discussion.
Still devouring! I can tell re-reading will be a blast. A little more sexual references in this one than I was hoping for with my 11yo, and we had to have a talk before I handed it over. Hopefully most of it will go over his head for now.
I devoured it, had a hard time putting it down. This one will be right up 11yo's alley: he loves trains. 3768/5000
I lost yarn chicken. I really like the length of the cuff, but I think frogging back and just starting the decreases sooner will give me enough yarn to finish.
Part of the bedtime book series, the kids and I just finished this one. I like the world-building, and the discrimination/social class aspects have been good for discussion. The only thing about this one, was that when the villain was revealed, all three of us were like, who? 3224/5000
I'm allowing my 11yo to read them, but I have to preview first. He is almost through the first one, so I've had to step up my reading game. 2840/5000 pages Over the halfway mark!
I MEANT to have it done for her bridal shower, but at least I can give it to her for her wedding on Saturday
Joining the Crawlers/Donut Holes! It *is* as much fun as they say.
One or more of them didn't realize that if the toilet is clogged, you should stop flushing, and water was dripping out of our ceiling fan. Things are now drying.
11yo RSVP'd to 9yo's friend birthday and slumber party (which she can now have because she/we finally finished cleaning her room)
Our coffee maker that we got for our wedding 15 years ago refused to make coffee this morning. Using Grandma's old reliable until we can figure out if it's fixable.
Little bit of a hiatus on reading in March, but back at it. Gothic horror/fantasy, reminded me a lot of The Hazelwood (which I also loved). I picked it from the library because I had other Harrow books on my To Read list, and I glad I did; what great atmosphere and mythology.
I have made another cake masterpiece. "Happy Birthday..." will be on a piece of paper on his tongue
My fifth book this year! I guess all I needed was a reading challenge! I believe this was the answer to one of my Thriftbooks ClueMarks, but I had never read it, so I gave it a go. Maybe another movie to watch? 1672/5000 pages
This was my "blind date with a book" from the library. 8yo picked the numbered ornament from the Love Tree for me, since they didn't do one for the kids (they might figure that out for next year...there were complaints). She made a good choice: spicy urban fantasy.
I promised to make my kids crocheted loaf cats after last summer's farmer's market so they didn't have to spend $25 of their hard-earned money on one. Meet Doctor Loaf.
This one was in 8yo's Christmas book stash; she read it in like, two days. I had never read it before (I was deep into learning to hate reading in college when it came out) and 8yo wanted me to read it too. Next time one of us gets to choose movie night, we'll watch the movie.
Book #2 Joe picked this one out for me for Christmas, and he did a good job! It's a duology, so I have to wait for the second one to come out, but it's irreverent, has Prachett-esque footnotes, and is the outsider-dropped-into-fantasy-setting trope. Fun! 15% of 5000 page goal
