Just learned that the great historian of The Russian Revolution Alexander Rabinowitch has passed away at the age of 91. I never met him, but his brilliant studies of the revolution in Petrograd have had a massive impact on my thinking since I first encountered them in high school.

I've just gotten through the second of two major interviews this week and I am now heading back to Copenhagen to discuss 120+ abstracts and make the selection for the @dkmarxsoc.bsky.social conference in October. Not sure what day it is, but it's already been one hell of a week.
Had a great time presenting my research on "Populism and Antipopulism in the Climate Debate" at the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters yesterday. Lots of great presentations and thought-provoking questions and discussions.

...somewhat confused by my proximity to the pet lovers community and fantasy premier league community though
This is pretty much where I want to be: in the middle of the left-wing intellectuals between politics and humanities scholars.

Seems like an appropriate conclusion, who wouldn't need a cigarette after watching the remnants of the international order you thought you knew crumble before you
It was simply bizarre to watch that press conference: "we had a very productive meeting with our US counterparts about not being invaded, but failed to come to an agreement." #KalaallitNunaat #Greenland
