Dove is a brand I'll always pay attention to. Their products, packaging and campaigns have evolved over 20+ years but from the Campaign for Real Beauty, Real Beauty Sketches to #KeepBeautyReal, the bigger idea has stayed consistent. That's how legacy brands stand the test of time.
Well, now I have a new fear: leaving the house without an eyebrow and nobody telling me because my teeth look great. 😂 This is my kind of advertising. Simple and impossible not to look at twice. When everyone already knows what your product does, you get to have a fun reminding them why they care.
I love ads that don't force the product into the story. McDonald's France's latest McFlurry campaign starts with situations people instantly recognize. The product already belongs there, so the advertising doesn't have to work as hard. You see it, get it and probably think, "Yep, I've been there."
Ever notice how easy it is to try a new product... and how hard it is to replace the one you already love? Only the best products earn a place in your routine. Before long, buying something else doesn't even cross your mind.
If you have to twist into a pretzel to explain a decision, you’re overthinking. Take World Cup "hydration breaks." They keep players safe (great!), but also unlock huge ad revenue. A clear win-win. If a change helps the business and does some good, just own it. No complex disguise needed.
One of the smartest parts of FIFA's World Cup retail strategy was putting merchandise where fans already shop every day. Visibility at the right moment can be every bit as valuable as another marketing campaign.
Proud Dad moment today. My daughter (8) and son (6) came into the Supersmile office and presented their ideas to our executive team. The best part is that I didn't ask them, they decided they had ideas and wanted to present them. Watching them leave feeling proud of themselves was pretty special.
Prada's latest moonshot surpasses being a fashion collection, and is helping design what NASA astronauts will wear on future lunar missions. That's what smart legacy brands do. They stop asking how to stay relevant and start asking where their expertise can create unexpected value.
A bad name means you're explaining yourself in every single conversation. Forever. The best names do the heavy lifting before anyone even tries the product. Naming is infrastructure.
AI can speed up production. It can’t replace taste, restraint, or clear creative perspective. Honestly, the more content brands generate, the more noticeable thoughtful work becomes.
A premium product starts losing value when it shows up everywhere, all the time. Placement, frequency, and environment shape perception. Once a product starts feeling interchangeable with everything around it, pricing power starts disappearing with it.
When volume softens, most teams go straight to pricing, pulling discounts forward, extending promotions, and adjusting forecasts. But maybe volume didn’t disappear. It might have moved. If you’re not tracking where it went before reacting, you’re solving the wrong problem.
A strong product can still struggle once it hits the shelf. What it’s priced next to, how it’s positioned, and whether the partner cans support it all determine if it sells. Environment drives outcome.
The right partner does more for a brand than 10 average ones. In this case, the brand is aligning itself with a partner that better matches how it wants to be sold. Read the article: https://www.glossy.co/beauty/after-exiting-cvs-dermatologist-founded-fig-1-heads-to-sephora
BIG UPDATE! I recently joined SuperSmile as Senior Vice President, Global Sales & Business Development. Overseeing B2B, hospitality, wholesale, marketplace, and collaboration partnerships while expanding distribution and retail relationships. Looking forward to being part of what comes next!
The most interesting layer of this prediction report is well-being. Luxury needs to match consumers' heightened interest in personal wellness and deliver emotional, physical, and even community value. Consumers are putting their money toward longevity via health, balance, and identity coherence.
Micromanagement is essentially telling your employees, "I don't think you're capable of doing this task alone", even if you think you're helping. You're at risk of eroding trust with your team every time you get too hands-on when you're not really needed.
When revenue slows, the urge is to do more through new channels, partners, and tactics. But, this causes the business to get louder, not healthier. Sustainable growth comes from clearer choices, like deciding where not to play and focusing where returns are real. Discipline over panic!
I'll say that 2025 wasn’t a year you brag about ... more a year you survived and learned from. Old playbooks shifted, and uncertainty became normal. For me, leadership isn’t about having all the answers, but knowing how to get them. Also, having a strong support system doesn't hurt!
Happy holidays. Taking a few days in Mexico with my family to unplug, soak up some sunshine, and reset before the new year. Wishing everyone a little rest, warmth, and good energy as we wrap up the year.
Luxury in 2025 blended heritage and innovation, with new creative directors and nostalgia-driven designs engaging collectors and shoppers alike. Storytelling and brand connection became central ... what's next for 2026? https://www.whowhatwear.com/fashion/luxury/luxury-report-2025
It’s December already! 2025 flew by with lessons and challenges. Before we dive into 2026, here’s advice I live by: when times get tough, don’t chase chaos, but perfect the craft. In luxury, we don’t panic-pivot, we refine. Control what you shape, and let quality do the heavy lifting.
Reflecting on Thanksgiving, I’m reminded why it’s so meaningful. We go around the table, and even our young children share what they’re thankful for. In recent years, we’ve joined our family with close friends, making the day even more special. Grateful for togetherness!
2025 had its peaks, like watching clients navigate chaos and come out stronger. But I hit a few valleys too, learning I can’t spreadsheet my way out of uncertainty. Turns out, #vulnerability is a commodity. When I led with honesty, growth followed. Control is an illusion, but connection isn’t.
As we move through Q4, I’m reflecting on gratitude in #luxury, where every relationship and experience carries weight. Taking a moment to thank clients before the holidays reminds me that even the toughest days hold lessons, deepen connections, and create opportunities to deliver excellence.
#Luxury’s toughest competition is yesterday’s handbag. The booming resale market is turning closets into showrooms, where vintage Hermès & Chanel outshine the latest runway drops. As circular fashion grows because of younger generations' interest in sustainability and vintage, scarcity gains style.
Today is #NationalMentoringDay. Grateful to Robert Aldrich, Chris Manley, my father Barry Grossman, and grandfather Joe Steinberg, mentors who shaped my leadership. Mentoring is giving people room to win. Thank your mentors, make space for others, and celebrate those who helped you grow.
Dyslexia taught me clarity. What once felt like a limitation became a filter for what matters most. The discipline of clarity has become one of my greatest strengths. What challenge has shaped your strength?
You don’t need to step into the arena like a gladiator to succeed as an entrepreneur. Success can come from sustainable strategies and smart decision-making, without endless hustle or burnout. Know when to push, when to pause, and how to create growth that lasts, with or without a cool sword.
#GenZ doesn’t do waiting lists, seasonal calendars, or outdated notions of prestige. Scarcity is out, surprise and speed are in. Brands that fail to engage emotionally, creatively, and inclusively risk becoming the next cautionary tale. Adapt, or watch the TikTok generation rewrite the rules.
