Really, really funny.
This is Bernard Watson. WHO?? Bernard Watson. He opened Live Aid in Philadelphia. He performed 2 songs and, to this day, has never made an album. I find this man fascinating.
Been here 5 days and this is my first Guinness of the trip. It’s bright sunshine outside, but Brogan’s Bar has a special, lovely darkness about it that suits a Guinness. Sláinte! #dublin
Another cancelled gig, so I’m home watching a film. Remember in the 70s or even the 80s when your parents got all excited if Gone With The Wind or Singing in The Rain was on even though those films were over 40 years old? I’m watching The Thing.
Dan and I put on a screening of “Sing Along” Live After Death at The Cart & Horses (The Birthplace of Iron Maiden) last week. It was the venue’s official celebration of Iron Maiden’s first gig there 50 years ago to the day. We had fun. Look at this lovely clip of people having fun. @impq.bsky.social
#NowPlaying Grendel - Marillion (Script For a Jester’s Tear, 1983)
Four albums I love but I think you might not know them. Please post yours. (Mine are all sort of indie, but yours don’t have to be)
Fair play, Dublin pub. But my local in Lewisham often says the same.
This is a horrible and sickening trade war we are experiencing. Mark my words, things are going to get way more boring and stupid.
The new @timeveleigh.bsky.social album is wonderful. His previous album is too. You can buy it on Bandcamp or you can try it first on streaming services. It’s beautiful, gentle and slightly awkward indie folk music for a planet made up solely of decent people. If you can imagine that.
Yesterday, we put out a podcast episode where @danmersh.bsky.social and I interviewed a real life Iron Maiden! Get @impq.bsky.social wherever you get your podcasts. It’s a really fun episode!
Always good to let promoters know it’s a pleasure to work for them.
