I've been doing some analysis on the sensor data. Manchester Piccadilly is about 11 miles from the Dovestone wildfire. Hourly PM2.5 exceeded 100 µg/m³, yet DAQI stayed ‘Low’. Its rolling 24-hour PM2.5 mean smooths away short, severe smoke peaks. The hourly European AQI shows what DAQI misses.

That's totally understandable. I would be doing the same if there were wildfires near me. I'm in Bristol. It makes more sense as you can probably look out the window and see it. Someone in Manchester posted this yesterday in a group I'm in.

It all depends on what problem you are trying to solve.

Do climate change policies also reduce air pollution? Yes. That’s literally all the article is saying.
And then, if people are more interested in reducing air pollution, they will have more reason to support climate change policies.
That’s me. My main aim is clean air, because it is causing problems RIGHT NOW to people everywhere. Air pollution is harming people every day, in the places where they live, work and go to school. Climate change is also a huge threat, but clean air is the issue that most directly motivates me.
So it is more cost-effective to pick policies that help with both problems, not just spend on cheap ones that only fix one problem.
If you were in charge, what are you going to do about the climate change problem when you only want to spend on cheap air pollution policies?

Please tell me exactly why it matters? Does the CO2 that comes from burning wood have a different impact on the climate than CO2 from burning coal or gas? Why does cutting down a carbon-absorbing device, and stopping it from absorbing carbon not have a detrimental effect?

And while it's in the atmosphere for weeks, months and years, it will be contributing to climate change. So if you hadn't burnt it, and used the energy from solar panels instead, then the climate change impact would be lower.

Why are they SIA totally misrepresenting the data? The figures clearly show that PM2.5 from wood burning domestic combustion has increased. The domestic combustion decrease is not because of new modern wood burning stoves.

Which emissions are you talking about? If it's CO2, then it's not absorbed immediately. And one of the big issues with rural areas, especially places like the welsh valleys, is that temperature inversions trap the pollution. So the emissions are being absorbed by people.

Have a look at how much we are using each source. Road Transport - LOTS. Wood Burning - Not a lot at all. And then look at the pollution from each source. We have over 40 million vehicles, and about 3 million wood burners. Yet wood burning is about the same amount of pollution.

It's only 0.3% pollution from ecodesign because of low usage. And you should be including seasoned wood as well. I told you this 4 months ago, and again you've ignored it. 2/3

You are not actively trying to improve the air quality in London, or anywhere else in the world. You are selling stoves that make air quality worse. Dry wood on an ecodesign stove has higher PM2.5 emissions than an open fire. 1/3 uk-air.defra.gov.uk/assets/docum...
