Kew Gardens, a wonderful knobbly Sweet Chestnut. #thicktrunktuesday

A very knobbly Sweet Chestnut tree. There are many knobs, and many limbs. The foliage is thick and green with the sun shining through it. There is foliage at the base of the trunk as well as the canopy.

Special #thicktrunktuesday to remember the Major Oak. It is sad, but also amazing that an oak tree can live for 1200 years! The Oak will be left alone to naturally decay, and provide shelter for countless other creatures. Death is only change, and change is inevitable. Long live the Oak.
