The Doorman is the best hero design in the history of competitive games, but if you ever meet a Doorman player IRL... run. Or you'll end up locked in a library basement.
So all I have to do is outmaneuver an agent of the Diagram, discover the mysteries of an ancient fabrial, keep my friends safe, and somehow maintain my humanity. It'll be fine. It's just the Cosmere. twitch.tv/magirpg #ttrpg
I can't believe I'm playing a Cosmere character on stream, this is like a dream come true. Live now with Dying Storms! Twitch.tv/magirpg #ttrpg
An amazing artist and friend of Magi crhysbe.bsky.social made these ABSOLUTELY STUNNING posters to commemorate Ignite Recall. It turns out that @themomobee.bsky.social and I were caught in 4K for our Cowboy Bebop inspirations for the visual language of the show and Crhysbe nailed it. Incredible.
At my neighborhood park there is a little mini "library" asking people to take a book, leave a book. Have really felt like the local community here is pretty good. Have you ever seen something like this?
This was the pivotal moment of our first season. The crew infiltrates the Governor's mansion and hands him the Artifact he's looking for. Only... they didn't count on being supremely outmaneuvered. The players faces when they realize it's all gone terribly wrong is absolutely priceless.
The Tower is a business man, absent father, and leader of the most powerful criminal syndicate in Doskvol. I take my own spin on the canon character in the Blades in the Dark lore and created a menacing, violent, ruthless villain who you can't help root for just as you're trying to kill.
Ismissa is a mystic who aligned herself with the Hegemony against her will and is sent to chase after the party and bring back the Governor a mysterious artifact. But there's more than meets the eye to this dark warrior. A fight rages within over a lover forgotten and a better life lived together.
Five crew mates wake up on a spaceship with no memories of who they are or how they got there. "Prepare to be boarded or fired upon!" Now what? Ignite Recall is a series that delves into what makes someone human, hope succeeding against all odds, and finding love in a dark world.
CRIT Award nominations are live, and if you've enjoyed my storytelling this past year, I'd appreciate it if you could nominate me for a few categories. Best Series (Ignite Recall) | Best NPC (Ismissa) | Best Villain (The Tower) | Best GM forms.gle/edQebZun5J6T...

What also stuck with them was how a previous antagonist named Ismissa, had morphed into an anti-hero as the reason for their animosity diverged. Build deep and complex villains, as a general rule, but sometimes it's ok to use people like Diana as a blunt tool when it makes sense in the narrative.
I introduced a new villain in Ignite Recall, an unstoppable religious zealot named Diana. She entered by blowing up a dock with a shoulder mounted rocket launcher, executed 2 guards, and proclaimed to the party "Die heretics!" It stuck with the players. #ttrpg
NaNoWriMo Day 23: Oops, I missed two days! It's okay, back on the horse on Thanksgiving. I don't know where we'll end up, but I still feel good about the journey.
NaNoWriMo Day 20: ...yes I did skip writing yesterday. Mental was boomed. But I did recover and write a decent amount today and also get a lot of work done on editing for a new TTRPG actual play teaser. Coming soon! Still, this is a good pace when I DO write.
NaNoWriMo Day 18: Low mental health day, but still managed to write a bit. Will try to do more next time. Consistency is the key right?
NaNoWriMo Day 17: Not a lot of progress today due to some conversations with friends, but still managed to crank out a bit. The weekend grind will need to be in full affect. Important milestone is today is the first day of the month I didn't want to write, but did anyway.
NaNoWriMo Day 16: Busy day of online fun with friends left little time for writing today, but still managed to cram some in at the end of a long night. I have no idea if this is good or not. In fact its probably not, but that's okay.
NaNoWriMo Day 15: I couldn't write last night because the Season Finale of Rise of the Conduit ( @magirpg.bsky.social ) went long, but got some good progress today after work. We'll keep this train going as long as we can.
NaNoWriMo Day 13: This is really good weekday progress. Got above my 1600 goal, had a DnD stream, and it didn't feel like that much work. I hit a stride where I'm discovering things about the characters and story that I really enjoy. If I can keep this up on weekdays, it'll be a good time.
NaNoWriMo Day 12: Officially at 15K! Didn't quite get to 3K today because I was distracted from some @magirpg.bsky.social related work and streams today, but did make a ton of progress despite a morning migraine. Story is picking up a lot too.
