If you're wondering why it feels like you don't see much of some parties this election, it's probably because they are being massively outspent
Happy Regulated Period Day! What are you doing to celebrate this fine day?
Standing ovations for Marama and Chlöe announcing their vision for our future. You can be a part of this www.greens.org.nz
Erasing Scotland from the map 😭😭😭 They're going to lose their s**t when they learn that not only international students but also 16 year olds can vote in Scotland's national parliamentary elections
We can have a greener, fairer future for Aotearoa and that future starts Nov 8. Still plenty of time to get involved and be a part of this 💚💚💚
I got to travel on the electric, zero emissions, ferry for the first time! And that was after spending the night on Matiu Island where I saw not one but two korarā 🐧🐧in the wild and two tuatara! To be able to do this minutes from my home is so special. We can and should have nice nature things
We need a bigger civic square. So many people standing up for trans rights
Isn't this lovely from St Matthews in the City Auckland over on Facebook
If anyone still on the old place has a connection to James, could you please ask him to pin his tweet. The free promo (thanks so much for sharing the whole video) has really helped the fundraiser soar but it's slipping down his timeline so we might not get the benefit over the coming days.
Big money is flowing into this general election. ACT took in $700k in the last three days. What does that money buy?
Great statement from National Council of Women New Zealand over on Facebook about the NZ First Definitions of Woman and Man Bill. Women are standing up across the country to be clear that this bill does zero to help us and we don't want to hurt our trans whānau.
All hands on deck. Eastbourne have released the emergency beacon. Or is the beacon to extraterrestrials to come save us because we really can't do this anymore 🤷
Great statement from the Human Rights Commission. tikatangata.org.nz/news/definit...
Gaaaaaah. And this is going to continue until well after my bedtime. And what's with Scotland going for a nice night's sleep instead of counting the votes immediately? Source: The Guardian
Nothing about this election is going to be on an even playing field. This info is out on the same day that the Electoral Commission has confirmed National and Labour will each get more than double the amount of the Broadcast Allocation funding that other parties will get. Source: Stuff
Looking forward to reading the copy of Action Stations's The Far Right Playbook that's landed on my desk. There's more information, including how to get a copy here farrightplaybook.nz/shop/
Massive privilege to be one of the pink swim-capped swimmers in the water today, following Jono Ridler in has he completed his epic swim. I love that living in Pōneke means I get to be in the ocean all the time and, like Jono, want to leave it in a better condition for our kids. Sign the petition!
I wrote academic chapters and articles here, finding tranquil focus away from the distractions of campus. When I was still suffering from post natal depression and living in a tiny damp rental, this was a warm safe space where my newly mobile baby was able to happily crawl amongst the book shelves.
Did I organise my day of annual leave around being able to go to the newly refurbished Wellington library? Of course! All the feels about how happy this library makes me. A city that loves its people is a city that gives them libraries. This building has a special place in my heart...
Nice to see people agreeing with Green policy. These changes can't come fast enough. www.thepost.co.nz/politics/360...
