Mitch Landrieu
@mitch-landrieu
Former White House Infrastructure Coordinator | Founder, E Pluribus Unum | Former Mayor of New Orleans & Lt. Governor of Louisiana
If Governor Landry wants to sit back while Louisiana falls behind our neighbors and pick fights with the city driving this state’s economy, so be it. But I won’t let him lie about New Orleans. New Orleans is an asset. It’s time to end the war on New Orleans. Read more: https://bit.ly/3TlmNdZ
You wanna win in America? You can't do it without the South. That's why I teamed up with @jenniferpalmieri.bsky.social and @errinhaines.bsky.social to listen, learn, and show what the South is really about. Subscribe on YouTube so you don't miss a second: https://www.youtube.com/@longplayseries
Months later and we still have the same questions, concerns, and lack of transparency from ICE. Tom Homan is wrong. This isn't an issue of compliance; this is an issue of lawlessness and lack of transparency.
I don't know what changes more, the gas prices or Trump's latest spin on the Iran War. Either way, the pump is always honest.
The administration spent the past year telling us all about tariff revenue coming in. Well, now we're seeing refunds to the tune of almost 50B dollars, and revenue completely wiped out. They were warned these tariffs were illegal and that they would hurt businesses and families. They didn't care.
The President can kick, scream, and cry as much as he wants, but that will never make his lie about voter fraud true. He lost the 2020 election, and his inability to accept that reality now has our FBI chasing ghosts to protect his ego.
I sat down with Astead Herndon to chat about America on its 250th anniversary. We talked about where we've been, where we are, and where we want to be. And most importantly, how to get there. Check out the full conversation: https://podcasts.voxmedia.com/show/america-actually-with-astead-herndon
On America’s 250th birthday, we should celebrate its promise. That promise was written 250 years ago, in words so radical that kings trembled at the sound of them-- life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. One nation. Liberty and justice for all, not just some. Happy Fourth of July.
E Pluribus Unum — out of many, one. That was never a description of where we started. It has always been a promise about where we are going. At 250 years old, that promise is still ours to keep.
On day one, President Trump promised to end the war in Ukraine, keep us out of foreign conflict, and reduce costs for Americans. Fast-forward two years, and costs are skyrocketing while Trump pursues his vanity projects. His new plane, the reflecting pool, the ballroom and on and on.
This Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives serving this country and defending our freedoms. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful holiday.
What the Supreme Court did last week in Louisiana v. Callais is serious. This isn't just about maps and districts and legal frameworks that only lawyers can parse. This is about whether every single American has an equal voice in their own democracy. Learn more: https://bit.ly/4dqwWgX
I applaud the voters of Virginia for making the right choice on Tuesday. Fight fire with fire. We all want fair maps. But you can’t bring a butter knife to a gun fight. And in both California and Virginia, the voters have spoken. My thoughts:
The Gospel did not back down from Trump's attacks. My op-ed this week breaks down why this is one fight the President cannot win. https://www.ms.now/opinion/trump-pope-leo-criticism-vance-catholic-peace
Tune into #TheHillSunday tomorrow, where I talk about why we call on our faith in this moment of chaos and division. "Love thy neighbor as thyself" is a good pathway in life and in politics.
The state of our union = higher costs, more chaos, rampant corruption, & disgusting cruelty. #sotu
This place has fed New Orleans for generations, body and soul. After such a tragedy, Dooky Chase’s reopening is a reminder that love, faith, and community still win here. https://bit.ly/4qF6Nzs
America is stuck in a cycle of self-inflicted crises. This kind of chaos wears people down. A country shouldn’t feel like it’s constantly holding its collective breath.
Happy New Year, everyone! A new year is a reminder that no matter how hard the last one was, we always get another chance to do better, for our families, our communities, and our country.
Merry Christmas, y’all. Hope your table is full, your home is warm and you're surrounded by everyone you love!
Spending the season in true New Orleans style seeing the beautiful lights at the Roosevelt Hotel with local students. What’s your favorite New Orleans Holiday tradition?🎄
American citizens should not have to be fearful on the streets of America.
We're in Middlesex, New Jersey to help elect Mikie Sherrill as the next governor of this great state! @mikiesherrill.bsky.social
Today is Election Day New Orleans. I voted for Helena Moreno. Make sure to get out and vote. The future of the city depends on it.
She’s tough, she’s smart, she knows what to do. She includes everybody in the work. That’s going to be important to the city going forward. Read more: https://bit.ly/46yNxvN
Early voting is underway. New Orleans, it's time to elect our new mayor. I'm with Helena Moreno. She's best positioned to get NOLA back on track. It's time to move forward, together. @Helena
When storms, floods, or fires hit, people need leaders who act with urgency and compassion. Tomorrow, I’ll be at UNC to talk about what true crisis leadership looks like and how communities can rise stronger together. Register here: https://unc.live/42mgSHn
The stories are seared into our souls forever. The rushing flood pulling people under; survivors trapped for days, with little or no help. Thousands on rooftops. People trying to keep their heads above the water.
