distilled into what? this is your thesis? wind and solar arent going to solve everything? yeah we know, but its cheap, quick, and does actually reduce emissions. the saying is "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush". but trust me, your stance is coming across VERY anti-renewables
because of the cost? show me a cost effective nuclear power plant in north america?
did you go to his linked in? ITS ABOUT VOLTAGE CONTROL he says it! thats a problem for ALL grids. not just solar/wind. did you know MH has issues with voltage? even with hydro units or nukes.. the moment you have HVDC systems you have voltage issues. like read your own sources.
this was awful in MB: it felt like 36 at 1am! that 48 was physically painful.
Oh there is nukes for sure. But what more coal then you realize. That's your region.
I, unwisely, got pulled into a blue sky debate around AC. I pointed out that US south powers is AC load with massive amount of emissions. No one seems to accept reality? Like SERC isn't trying to decarbonized people.
My current pet peeve, utilities pretending the gas system will take care of its capacity peak issue in winter. Explain to me this quote. So if we move everyone to hybrids, at this magical switchover point. How does the gas system respond? we are going to have massive gas storage ready?
ok can someone help me here #canpoli you have Premier Kinew out here saying "ok $30B and we'll build an LNG facility".. whos $30B? it sure isnt MB, and i doubt the feds are funding. so then it needs to be the gas industry, and considering Kitimat is still underway. who is going to fund this?
Wait. We're already getting setup for the dirty 30s? It's not smoke. It's dust.
Well the best I can say is, we'll agree to disagree on how to read their perspective
Yep, thats a federal gov't announcement all right. a) clearly don't want to get into pissing match with provinces on Section 92A. but hey.. lets pretend we can do things by "enabling, supporting, examining, ensuring" etc. basically "we'll help.. but you know.. not more in spirit then anything"
because rail lines cross provincial boundaries? federal land baby. and those are actually among the easier permits to get in Canada. look at that sweet sweet pathing!
Let me teach you something that much like ker ning that once you learn about it. You can't unsee. Let's talk wrong sized shutters. It drives me bonkers. Just either use the correct size or don't use them. Your house doesn't look stately. It just looks wrong. Fix your curb appeal (executiion not $$)
www.eenews.net/articles/wan... oh look.. when you try and meddle in your market with political beliefs, you screw it up:
i had a suspicion that deep geothermal in canada is going to be limited to the areas around the Rockies. here is a visualization from my vacuum thermal collectors used for HW and (if possible) hydronic heating. starting about.. early March it can heat a 2000sq ft space without any backup.
"we can't afford transit" meanwhile, every $1 on transit generates $7 in economic and social benefits. Oh and a study journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1... showing how more public transit seats increases workers, increases wages and economic growth. Public transit IS a FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE SOLUTION
its like saying "there is a shortage of ski lifts. so we are funding a nation wide ski lift program!" .. um... thanks i guess? but we might just want to just fund areas that need ski lifts? (looks out window)
🤷♂️ you gotta figure at worst a bit plastic roller thing couldn't be that bad. But something heavy to pull behind? This thing is 72lbs. At least it would make paths flat.
oops. didnt post the MISO one. but pretty similar the wind fields of the west and center west are running negative with heavy congestion patterns showing.
it will shortly be time for the annual blame game. Wind failed us! no, solar! no, gas generation! regardless, this post made me go "huh". Tx constraints will ripple across a system and cause distortion. The Grid Status live is quite good. that was today. MISO, yesterday. similar issue of tx vs wind
Yeah and they are being kind. Both are in that Shepherd family. They don't really care. Usually bark to come in after 10min
