I'm Matt. I herd the cats over on r/Ska. And do my best to pass along any cool new ska that comes my way. Skank awhile, and listen. 🇨🇦 , He/Him
I've taken to picking up an extra vinyl copy of albums I really like, when I see the bands live. Usually trying to get the band to sign them too. Looking forward to trying the same with "Grieving Expectation" later this year...
My family made me take these home, it's like they want this looming over me or something.
This doesn't really match up, but immediately came to mind. In fact it's an actual spirit of vengeance empowered by karmic law that centers this issue. And yet the sentiment persists, and has always felt true to me. "There is no justice, there's just us."
Me being blissfully unaware of whatever drama is going on on Twitter
Saw a couple other charts for top 100 listens for the year, so here's mine. Solid year for new music, but plenty of older favourites working their way towards the top.
Damn, what a bummer to start the week. RIP, one of the absolute greats. I'm not normally too affected by these things, but this one is really getting to me.
Dunno if anyone else I know is on the #Warframe train, but I hit a major in game milestone this week. And inadvertently immortalized (for myself) some Movember kit in the process.
This isnt the most iconic Brown #Ska album. But it is an exceptional Ska-Punk album, that happens to have a brown cover. You should listen to it.
Only iconic to southern Ontarians of a certain age. And arguably not so much with the Ska, but still, very green.
four cards, four card types that are hugely influential to the way you enjoy Magic: The Gathering I'm a simple guy, I like simple things.
If you see this, drop an old photo you still love. ~2012, just a night out catching up with a friend who decided to test out a new lens by doing some night shooting. I don't think I look good in most pictures, new or old. This might be the first one I thought I did.
Had a real nice day in Toronto today. Good food, watched the Jays beat the Yankees. And I spent more money than I intended to on records. But in my defence: Come on! Just look at them!
I want to say Transmetropolitan, but it has to be Malazan (book 2, Deadhouse Gates, if we need a specific novel). Both changed the way I interacted with and appreciated their mediums. But nothing else has affected me the way that Malazan has emotionally or introspectively.
